What Is Project Payday?
This platform has been around for quite a while now, since 2006, despite the fact that many people claim it’s a scam. When you arrive on the website it’s all pretty typical stuff. Practically all there is available is a video testimonial from a woman claiming she uses Project Payday and has made loads of cash with it. She fails to tell us exactly how she made all that cash, though.
The main message, apart from all the money you’ll make with project payday, is how easy it will all be. You will make money in very quick time and no previous skills are required.
One of the common things that points to a scam or a platform that’s on the dodgy side, is their website will have nothing but a sales video, and they always refuse to reveal what their program actually entails. They just hype up the money and nothing else.
I mean, if it’s so great and all above board, why do they feel the need to hide what it’s about until you agree to sign on?

How It Works
When you get inside Project Payday, then the layers start to get peeled back and you learn exactly what’s going on.
Project Payday is kind of like a rewards site, only a little on the dodgy side. You earn rewards by signing up for trial offers. Once you have reached a certain amount of points you can redeem them for cash.
Some of the trials are free and some are paid, but even most of the free ones will want your credit card details so they can start charging you once the free trial period is up. You also give up your contact details, such as email address and phone number, so then you’ll start receiving spam in your inbox and telemarketing phone calls as well.
When you complete one paid offer you are considered a member of Project Payday. When you complete two paid offers you become a VIP member, entitling you to higher commissions when you refer people.
As an affiliate of Project Payday, the compensation plan is pretty simple, but also pretty worthless. You receive $1.50 per referral as a regular member, or $3 as a VIP member. However, your leads actually need to take action once on the platform. Dead leads and inactive referrals will earn you nothing.

What This Is Really About
The person running Project Payday is an affiliate of all the companies that promote offers on the site. When someone takes up an offer, the owner Steve Little earns a commission. He’s willing to pay members small amounts of the profits to complete offers and refer other people, but rest assured he’s making a fair bit on top of that.
Essentially you’ll spend a lot of time to make a couple of dollars here and there. And if you’re not careful, you could just end up getting charged money for products and services you don’t even want. Recruiting for this scheme to make that end worthwhile wouldn’t be easy either, and likely consume a lot of your time.
Target Audience
This sounds like it’s more targeted at people looking for something quick and easy where they can make some cash. It would likely been seen in social media circles, where people try to entice each other to join schemes, using particular groups to do so. I don’t think it’s something experienced marketers would be interested in wasting time on.

- This is nothing more than a way for Steve Little to make affiliate commissions and pay members tiny rewards for their time
- The sales video on the website tells you nothing
- You will waste a lot of time filling out offers and/or recruiting other people, but all for hardly any money
- You can only participate in Project Payday if you live in the USA
- The testimonial video on the main sales page looks like it’s scripted and read by a paid actor
How Much Does Project Payday Cost?
Technically Project Payday is free to join, but you can’t really do anything on the site to earn rewards if you don’t pay for something. To be considered an earning member, you either have to pay a $34.95 membership fee, or complete at least one paid offer on the site. Two offers gets you VIP member status, which just means you earn $3 for active referrals rather than $1.50.
Is Project Payday a Scam?
I can’t classify this as a scam. There is a system in place and you can make small rewards from the offers and your referrals, but overall you’ll likely end up spending far more than you actually make.
The site is all geared towards Steve Little earning affiliate commissions from everyone signing on for free and paid offers. He also uses his members to get him more members through the referral program. There’s not really much in it for you and I.
I’d personally give Project Payday a miss. It’s not really worth bothering with. There are far better ways to make money online. Read below.

Project Payday is one project too many as far as I can see from your review. I can understand how some people with the get rich quick mentality could get drawn into it. Let’s hope many of them find your great review before they get scammed. Thanks for this very helpful information that makes it very clear what not to join.
Hi Hilary, technically you can make some tiny rewards with Project Payday, but ultimately this site is pretty much a waste of precious time. That being said, much of the site is about helping the owner, Steve Little, make affiliate commissions and not so much its members. It’s definitely not worth bothering with in my honest opinion. There are far better ways to spend your time online if the goal is to earn decent money.
