VPS hosting is a definite step up from generic shared hosting and is suited to sites that require faster page loading, attract large numbers of traffic (such as membership sites), and much greater resources for your website to draw on. In this post we’ll take a closer look at why you should choose VPS hosting on Bluehost and how it will really be of benefit to you.

A Bit of Background on Bluehost

First starters, a very popular and highly respected website hosting company that has been operating since 2003, so you know this company is in it for the long haul and they aren’t about to disappear overnight, taking your websites with them. Currently they host more than 2 million websites worldwide and employ a staff of 750+ with around the clock support. They offer a full suite of hosting services.

  • Shared hosting
  • VPS hosting
  • Managed WordPress hosting
  • Dedicated hosting
  • WooCommerce hosting
  • Cloud hosting

This company are not specialists in any one area – such as WP Engine are for managed WordPress hosting – but they offer some of the very best hosting services available in each of the above areas.

Why Choose VPS Hosting and What Bluehost Brings to the Table

Bluehost have always be well known for offering great hosting at really affordable prices. Some other generic hosting companies will offer fantastic deals when you first sign up with them, but then hike the prices right up when you renew. Bluehost is a little different in that area. They start out offering low prices and continue to offer those same low prices when you renew your hosting.

Their pricing modules for their VPS hosting services are very reasonable, and that’s one of the main reasons I – and many others – recommend them for VPS hosting.

Check out their VPS hosting packages and prices in the screenshot below.

VPS is particularly useful for sites that get a lot of traffic (or will be in the near future), have large databases attached and sites that draw a lot of resources. If you host a site like this on generic shared hosting it will likely get taken down by the host for drawing on too many of the server’s resources. It’s always best to host on a virtual private server.

Bluehost Benefits at a Glance

  • Competitive pricing
  • Lightning fast servers
  • Highly reliable service with guaranteed uptime
  • Flexible hosting options
  • Built on cloud technology
  • Dynamic and guaranteed resources with enhanced cPanel
  • Multi server management with advanced capabilities
  • Site lock
  • SSL Certificates
  • Domain privacy and spam protection
  • Site backup pro

On top of all these features associated with Bluehost’s VPS hosting packages, their expert support staff are standing by 24/7 to help out with any enquiries or issues.

The Bluehost Guarantee

Bluehost always offer a 30 day money back guarantee if you’re not satisfied with their service in any way. In the unlikely event that you find you don’t like their VPS hosting services, you can always claim your money back in that first 30 day period.

Do I Recommend Bluehost for VPS Hosting?

Absolutely. I’ve been more than happy with their service over the years. I personally run quite a few websites and have them hosted with several platforms and, based on price and performance, Bluehost is definitely one of the very best.

VPS hosting is a smart step up from generic shared hosting, and if you decide it’s time to go the VPS route, then I really suggest you give Bluehost a try. You have nothing to lose. Try it out for a month, and you can always get your money back if you’re not happy.

  1. A very slick site Darren 🙂

You post brought up a number of questions for me. I am currently hosted by Wealthy Affiliate. Do you have any experience in changing over site hosting? Everything I’ve read about it sounds quite complex but I know I’ll have to do it some time as I’m probably not going to maintain my membership forever. Have you tried having a site hosted though WA? Was there a marked difference from you Bluehost hosted sites?

    Thanks

    Deb

    • Hi Deb, I do host sites with WA but haven’t tried to move them to different hosting as yet. Bluehost actually offer a service (for a fee) where they will do all the work of transitioning your websites onto their servers, whether the shared hosting, VPS or Dedicated.
