What Is American Consumer Opinion and How Does It Work?
This company currently enjoys an A+ rating on the BBB site, so that’s a positive start. It is also one of the oldest (est. 1996) and largest paid survey sites there is. When you take surveys with American Consumer Opinion (Acop), you can earn rewards towards either a cash payout or sweepstakes entries.
Taking paid surveys are not the only thing you can do on this platform. There is also the opportunity to test out products and review them, as well as take part in focus groups by invitation.
Now, you would be excused for thinking that you have to live in America to participate on this platform, given its name. However, anyone from anywhere in the world is welcome to take part in the Acop surveys and other deals.
What you do is earn points each time your participate in a survey. 100 points is equivalent to $1 in cash, and you need to reach 1000 points ($10) to be eligible for a cash out through PayPal. There is also a check option if you don’t use PayPal, or you can even choose to donate to charity.
Some other sites make you wait until you reach $20, but Acop is only $10, so not bad.

There are no surveys posted on the platform. When you join Acop you will fill out a personal survey so they have an understanding of where your interests and experience lie. You will then be emailed links to appropriate and relevant surveys when they become available.
The amount of rewards points you can earn per survey will be anywhere from 100 for the shorter ones, right up to 5000 for long surveys.
The main complaint I can find with this platform is that you don’t get sent very many surveys, so it makes it hard to get a roll on and make some useful cash. To compensate for this they do have an affiliate program. If someone clicks through on your affiliate link and joins, you get paid 50 cents.

Target Audience
Aimed at anyone who wants to get a start making some money online. Surveys don’t pay very much, but when you receive your first payment, then making money online all becomes tangible rather than mythical like some people believe. It's not a bad way to get started.

- Not enough surveys to do
- The affiliate program pays very little
- Doing surveys can be extremely time consuming and not a very profitable trade off
- Sometimes you can spend a lot of time answering the screening questions, only to discover you didn’t make the cut to do the actual paid survey

Is American Consumer Opinion a Scam?
No, there’s no scam at all here. This company has been around for over 20 years and is actually one of the most respected out of all the paid survey platforms. The only reason I haven’t rated it higher is because doing paid surveys is not a very valuable way to spend your time if you are serious about making money.
They are a good starting point so you can actually see that making money on the internet is possible, but at most you’ll likely only earn a couple of dollars an hours. That kind of money is not good enough. Nowhere near it.
