What Is Bizrate Rewards?
Bizrate Rewards has been around for about 15 years or so now. The name suggests that this is more of a general rewards site such as Swagbucks, but when you look into it, Bizrate Rewards only offer paid surveys. There are no other ways to earn rewards points on their platform. No watching ads, doing daily tasks, playing games or anything like that. Just surveys.
Paid online survey sites are a dime a dozen these days and I’ve personally been a member of quite a few in the past. Bizrate Rewards focus on teaming up with big companies and collecting insights and data for them from cross-sections of the general population. Companies run surveys for all manner of reasons, but generally it’s to improve their offers and also determine whether it’s viable to go ahead with a new product idea.
When it comes to participating in a platform such as Bizrate, the survey company acts as the link between the companies needing data, and willing survey participants.
There are way better ways to make money online that by doing surveys, though.
How It Works
As with most survey sites, it’s free to join. Once you open your account the survey company needs to learn more about you so they can accurately match you up with appropriate surveys. They achieve this by having you answer a series of profile questions about all sorts of things. There are your standard questions like date of birth, occupation, and then there will be questions to determine where your interests and experience lie.
There is actually not much to the Bizrate Rewards website. There’s nothing much to look at, explore or play around with. Unlike other survey and rewards sites, there is no member dashboard area. You simply join, fill out the profile questions and wait for a survey to be emailed out to you. That’s all there is to it.
As with all surveys you will first be asked a series of qualifying questions. If you pass those and are deemed an appropriate fit, you will then be free to complete the paid part of the survey. The length can range anywhere from a few minutes to over an hour for really detailed surveys.
How Much Can You Earn?
Let’s first be clear that Bizrate Rewards don’t pay out anyone with actual money. Rewards are all in the form of eGift cards. To redeem your accumulated rewards points for an eGift card, you need to reach the payout threshold of 5000 points.
5000 rewards points = $5.00
From some reports I’ve researched, the average rewards points for a typical survey is only 50 points. So at that rate you would need to complete 100 surveys to earn yourself a $5 eGift card. I’m sure they offer surveys that pay more than that, and Bizrate Rewards claim on their website that surveys can pay anywhere from 50-5000 points per survey.
As a general rule, the shorter the survey, the less it will pay. I’ve never participated in Bizrate before, but in my extensive survey taking experience, the average dollar amount per survey, when you take an average of the long ones and the short ones, would be somewhere between $1 and $2. Some sites pay really low while some others are more generous.
Bizrate has been doing this successfully for 15 years, so I can’t imagine they would only pay 50 points for every survey. No one would bother with them and Bizrate would have been out of business a long time ago. Especially when you consider how much competition is out there.

Target Audience
At present Bizrate Rewards is only open to residents of the United States. People often get their very first start in making money online by doing paid surveys, so it can be a confidence booster for newbies that there is actually money on the internet.

- You can get screened out after answering a whole bunch of qualifying questions and earn nothing
- There are a number of complaints online about Bizrate
- Surveys are really not a very profitable way to spend your time

Is Bizrate Rewards A Scam?
It’s not a scam at all. They don’t pay very much for their surveys and there is only one option for points redemption. When it comes to doing surveys, you will be swapping big chunks of your precious time for exceptionally small rewards. Surveys are okay, but they’re not a great way to make money online, and in the case of Bizrate, you don’t have the option of actually getting paid money anyway.
