That's the question many people have been asking.
There are literally hundreds or maybe thousands of paid survey platforms on the internet these days and Opinion World is yet another. The parent company that runs Opinion World has been operating since way back in 1977, so there’s definitely stability and credibility with this platform.
A positive about Opinion World is it’s global. While not every single country on the planet can complete and earn with Opinion World surveys, there are many countries across the world that can participate.
How It Works
First things first is you need to create a free account with Opinion World. This requires just your general information, along with answering a few other questions so Opinion World learns more about you and can better match you up with appropriate surveys.
Surveys will be emailed to your inbox, but you can also access current surveys via the website as well. For each survey you complete you will earn a small reward, as well as receiving an entry into the quarterly $10,000 prize draw.
The threshold you need to reach before you can cash out is only $10, and redemptions are available in the following ways:
- PayPal
- Amazon Gift Cards
- eGift Cards
- Various Other Physical Gift Cards
- Donations To Charity
1000 rewards points is equal to $10 and the average survey gives you 100 points for about 15-20 minutes of your time. That’s an average, but sometimes the surveys will pay more than this.
If you redeem your points for a PayPal payment, generally you’ll receive your payment within a few hours. Physical gift cards can take several weeks by the time they arrive at your address.
Keeping your profile up to date as well as successfully completing surveys will help ensure you receive access to more surveys and more income.

Downsides To Paid Surveys
While most paid survey platforms are legit, taking surveys is not a very wise way to spend your valuable time. If it were possible to do surveys back to back, hour after hour, you would be lucky to make about $3 an hour at the rates Opinion World pay.
Also, most surveys come with qualifying questions, where you are required to answer a series of questions at the start to see if you are a suitable participant. Often you will get screened out and have wasted your precious time.
At times it can take a while to reach a payout threshold, and then even longer still to receive your money or gift card.

Complaints About Opinion World
On the survey monitoring website – Survey Police – there are numerous complaints about members having their accounts closed down the very moment they requested a redemption of their earned rewards points. This is rather disconcerting, as there are not just a couple of complaints about this, but dozens.
Apparently when you go to redeem for a PayPal payment, the company informs you that you’ve breached their terms and shut down your account, thus stealing your rewards. People from all different countries are complaining about the same thing, and most of these complaints are only a few weeks ago (at the time of this writing).
Target Audience
Paid surveys target people who are looking to make a little extra cash in their spare time. Surveys are a good ice breaker for people new to making money on the internet. They can be a good starting point to get your feet wet, so to speak.
What I Like
- On the surface the site seems pretty good
- The payout threshold is low at $10
- You can redeem points for cash as well as gift cards
- Payout times are quite rapid
- It’s global
What I Don’t Like
- The rewards per survey are rather low
- There are not a lot of surveys to take
- Paid surveys are really a waste of your valuable time if your goal is to actually make some decent money
- There are so many complaints about accounts being shut down the moment someone requests a cash out

Is Opinion World a Scam?
It’s hard to say whether this platform could be labelled as a scam. I’ve been involved in many survey platforms over the years and haven’t really had any problems. Opinion World is run by a company that has been operating successfully for over 40 years and they run a number of survey platforms.
What’s really got me concerned with Opinion World is the vast number of complaints against them, all for the same issue – Accounts being terminated the moment someone requests a payout. That’s suspect as hell, and until whatever this issue is that’s causing this, I can’t recommend Opinion World as a trusted platform to take paid surveys and actually get paid for your time.
Earn a Real Income With Affiliate Marketing Instead
If the goal is to make real money online, money that you can actually use to enhance your day to day life or even live on, then you will never achieve it by spending all your time filling out paid surveys online. You are far better off starting an online business that is easy and cheap to get going, and one that anyone with a computer and the internet is capable of doing.
