Timebucks is a scam or legit platform to make some money online? It looks like yet another rewards site, but are the rewards even worth your valuable time? So many pay virtually nothing, so is this one any different?
Let’s take a look and find out…

~ Timebucks Reviews ~
What Is Timebucks?
Founded in 2014, Timebucks is another site that offers rewards for doing a variety of everyday online tasks. Some of the tasks are a little different to what sites like Swagbucks offer, which is a good thing. It keeps it more interesting.
This is designed as a fun way to make a few extra bucks online, often doing stuff that you would normally do online for free anyway.
As some of you may be wondering whether it’s worth getting involved in this platform, I decided to write a review on what I found.
How It Works
The obvious first step is to create a Timebucks account. You can either create an account directly on the platform, or use your Facebook account to log into Timebucks. Once you’ve created an account you can then start to indulge in some of the tasks and start earning rewards. Here are the options available:
- Taking selfies
- Watching videos
- Grow a beard
- Vote in the daily poll
- Install mobile apps
- View online content
- Draw photos of other people
- Share content on Facebook
- Taking paid surveys
Timebucks also have a few other ways you can earn as well. Each day they offer bonuses for the top 5 earners on the platform, and there is also a multi level marketing referral program.
The Rewards
For every task you perform you will earn rewards. The issue is, the rewards are not very much as far as an exchange for your time goes. Timebucks claim you can make between $10-$20 a day if you spend enough time on the platform, and actually earn up to $50 on the first day when the highest paying rewards are on offer. I find this impossible to believe.
The daily poll only pays about 1 cent, but the paid surveys can pay anywhere from 50 cents up to $3, depending on how long the survey is. Apparently the average is only 50 cents to $1, though.
Other tasks on the site actually – no word of a lie – only pay a fraction of a cent for your time. I don’t think I’d be bothered doing anything online that paid me just 1 cent, let alone less than a cent. Certainly not a very good way to spend your time.
As an example of the pay rates, viewing online content and filling in Captcha codes for a total of 10 minutes will earn you about 4 cents. Watching advertising videos earns you 2 cents.
Anyway, one good thing about Timebucks is they pay you in real cash and not just gift cards. They have a set payout figure to redeem your cash, which is $10. Payouts are once per week and you can opt to be paid via PayPal or Payza. Payments take place every Thursday for rewards earned up to midnight Tuesday.

The Referral Program
Referring a bunch of other people to the Timebucks site is likely the best way to be able to earn any useful money here. The rest of the options are rather pathetic in my opinion.
When you refer others to Timebucks via the unique referral link they give you upon account creation, you will earn commissions on that person for life (or as long as they remain active on the site).
How much you actually earn on your referrals and the tasks they do is unclear. Timebucks don’t state any percentages or figures on the site, but judging by the rewards they offer for the tasks, even a high percentage is not going to amount to much. You would literally have to bring in thousands of people to have any chance of making useful cash.
Target Audience
This is aimed at people who likely have nothing better to do than waste their time on menial tasks. Sure, you can get paid for them, but the rates are ridiculously low. If you want something easy to get your first taste of making money online, you are far better off joining a dedicated paid survey platform. They pay peanuts as well, but way more peanuts than what Timebucks does.
What I Like
- They have some different tasks to perform compared to other similar sites
What I Don’t Like
- The rewards are some of the lowest I’ve ever seen for a rewards site
- You will spend loads of time on tasks and earn something like a few cents
- Timebucks is likely getting paid quite handsomely by the advertisers, but basically insults its members with the rewards they offer
- Paid surveys are difficult to qualify for
- Some people have accused Timebucks of faking the profiles on the daily leader board, thus getting out of paying the daily bonuses for the top 5 earners
How Much Does Timebucks Cost?
It’s free to join Timebucks, but you wouldn’t want to have to pay a joining fee to earn rewards that are a percentage of a cent.
Is Timebucks a Scam?
It’s not a scam. The platform is legit, just not worth your time or bother. The rewards here really are an insult in my opinion. Do people really waste all this time on a site like Timebucks to maybe earn a couple of dollars all up for hours of effort? I guess some people must or the site would have folded by now. I can’t work it out. Why would you waste your precious time on this when there are far better ways to make a hell of a lot more money?
Make Serious Money With Affiliate Marketing Instead
If the goal is to spend time online and make money in the process, then why not do something worthwhile like affiliate marketing? I make more than fulltime living from my affiliate marketing business.
Anyone can do this as an online business. It takes time and effort, but it’s well worth it. You could spend the same amount of time on your affiliate marketing business as you do on something like Timebucks and be earning thousands of dollars a month instead of cents.
