~ The Asea Review ~

What Is Asea?

Maybe you’ve been approached by a distributor of Asea about joining the company and want to learn more about it from someone who’s not trying to sell you anything. Well, you’ve come to the right place.

I’m not affiliated with Asea at all, so I’m not trying to sell you on the deal. I’ll simply tell you what the business opportunity is about and whether I recommend it or not.

Asea is a MLM dealing in health and beauty products. The company was launched back in 2007 by Verdis Norton and James Pack. The company sells products and offers business opportunities in multiple countries around the world and is very similar to companies like Nerium International and Mannatech.

One of their flagship products has been hailed as a miracle cure for all sorts of ailments by some, but has been labelled as a rort by others less than satisfied with the results.

While it’s possible to make some money with network marketing, it’s gotta be one of the hardest and slowest ways to make some cash. I much prefer affiliate marketing, where there’s no buying and selling of products and no recruiting needed. Simply promote products/services and earn commissions.

It’s pretty easy when you follow the Wealthy Affiliate training. You can even join for FREE!

Asea Products

Let’s take a quick look at the products. I won’t go in-depth here as this review is all about whether you can make money with Asea, but the products are part of the package, so let’s see what they’re all about.

Basically there are only 3 core product categories:

  1. ASEA Redox Supplement
  2. RENU 28
  3. RENU Advanced

While ASEA Redox Supplement is a liquid designed to be a health tonic, the other two product categories are more aimed at beauty and keeping the skin healthy and looking young. RENU Advanced has a number of beauty/skincare products in the range, while RENU 28 is a product itself and not a category of products.

The product that has encountered some controversy over the years is their flagship product – ASEA Redox Supplement. What this liquid supplement – recommended to be consumed daily – is designed to do is get the body’s cells communicating with your body’s genes.

Sounds bizarre, but apparently as we age there is less communication between these vital parts of the anatomy, and a lack of communication leads to a breakdown in the body’s immune system, among other things.

Asea claim this is somewhat of a miracle tonic that can help with things like:

  • Boosting your body’s immunity
  • Hormone balancing
  • Digestion
  • Inflammatory response
  • Cardiovascular health

Many people claim this product is nothing but salty water and a complete rip off with regards to its value and the price Asea charge.

As an example of the expensive prices this MLM company charges, a case of ASEA Redox Supplement costs $150 retail. A case contains only 4 x 32 ounce bottles. That’s nearly $40 per bottle of salty water. In metric terms, that’s not even a one litre bottle.

The MLM Business Opportunity

The way just about all MLM ventures are set up, they’re not a good deal for those joining as distributors. If you get in early and can move to the top of the heap, then you have a good chance of making a decent income and enjoying a quality lifestyle. However, most people will never reach those lofty heights in any MLM business.

You’re not meant to.

In order for a MLM company to flourish, and for those near the top or at the top to reap the full benefits, they need a vast workforce down below doing all the grunt work for very little reward. It’s really not much different to politics or any other scheme where a hierarchy exists.

MLM is structured to give all the advantages to the company whilst stripping benefits from the vast majority. Asea, for example, have a massive workforce doing all the buying, selling, promoting and recruiting to grow the company.

And this army of devoted and active distributors doesn’t get paid. They work on the promise of being rewarded with commissions, bonuses and achieving an awesome lifestyle of abundance which most will never achieve in a company such as Asea.

MLM really isn’t a good deal unless you either own the company, or get in really early. Everything else is just a rort. You don’t get to own your own business like they always state. Asea owns the whole operation.

Distributors are nothing but sales reps who have to pay membership fees for the privilege of working for Asea. That really sucks in my opinion.

The Asea Compensation Plan

I won’t go deep into how the compensation plan works, as these are always complex and a little hard to follow. Further below there is a video that explains it.

To become an Asea distributor you must first pay a membership fee and maintain a minimum monthly PV (personal volume) of 100 points, or roughly $100. You can either buy 100 PV worth of product for yourself, or sell that amount or more each month to customers. If you don’t maintain at least this level, you won’t get paid commissions and bonuses.

The real way to earn in MLM is by recruiting. When you build downlines you can earn commissions on their sales and purchases, earn group bonuses, as well as being able to move up the company rankings based on monthly group volume.

Without recruiting you’ll be limited to trying to sell products wherever you can and that’s it.

Asea CommissionsHere are some of the ways you can earn with Asea:

  1. Retail Sales
  2. Preferred Customer Bonus
  3. Fast Start Bonus
  4. Director Bonus
  5. Team Commissions
  6. Executive Momentum Bonus
  7. Check Match

Along with the various ways you can earn, there are also seven ranks you can achieve within the Asea program:

  1. Bronze
  2. Silver
  3. Gold
  4. Platinum
  5. Diamond
  6. Double Diamond
  7. Triple Diamond

Check out the video below for a breakdown of the Asea compensation plan.

Is Asea An Illegal Pyramid Scheme?

No, it’s not an illegal pyramid scheme despite it’s pyramid-style of compensating its members.

To be classified as an illegal pyramid scheme a company must have no products and rely solely on recruitment and the investment of new money to survive. Asea doesn’t fit that definition.

Target Audience

As far as the business side of Asea goes, MLM tends to attract people looking to get started earning money with an opportunity that’s already set up. This way they don’t have to come up with an idea and try and turn that idea into an actual business.

MLM ventures have it all ready to go. There is a lot less risk in that way.

What I Like

  • The opportunity is available internationally
  • The company has been going strong since 2007

What I Don’t Like

  • It’s uncertain whether their flagship product really has any actual health benefits
  • The prices are super expensive
  • Like all MLM, recruiting is the key to success, but also the hardest part
  • Some 95% of all people who try MLM fail
  • Asea hardly has any products
  • Asea is typical MLM and not really offering anything new and exciting
  • It’s costly to join this business

How Much Does Asea Cost?

To become a distributor for Asea will cost you a $50 enrolment fee. After that, to remain active, you must personally order, or sell, about $100 or more of products every single month, or you won’t be eligible for commissions and bonuses.

As MLM is all about recruiting, you will likely have other expenses along the way to try and attract others to the business. Without active downlines you will struggle to make any real money. One such expense might be getting your own website to promote it and paying for a domain and monthly hosting.

Is Asea a Scam?

I don’t think the Asea business opportunity is a scam, but perhaps their salty water drink might be a little dubious. There are many mixed reviews around regarding Asea’s flagship product. Plus, they only have a handful of products to promote, and having to either personally buy or move 100 PV every single month, there may not be enough choices for most people.

Asea is legit and above board, but it’s just your typical MLM company, offering products in a niche that is already way too saturated, the prices are mega expensive, and the business opportunity is a rort for distributors.

MLM companies make their money by charging distributors membership fees and forcing distributors to buy products every month.

Do I recommend trying to make money with Asea?

No, not really. Not unless you 100% believe in the products and are very confident you can continuously recruit new people and grow your downlines. That’s the only way to stand a chance of making good money with MLM. It’s all in the recruiting.

Forget MLM – Try Affiliate Marketing Instead

Do Affiliate Marketing - It Works!I’ve done MLM in the past, but once I realised what a rort it is for distributors, I steered clear of anything MLM.

These days I make more than a fulltime living entirely on the internet. I’ve achieved this with an affiliate marketing business. Anyone with a computer and the internet can do what I do and be successful at it if you want it bad enough.

Affiliate marketing is a really simple business model that has virtually no overheads.

It’s so much easier and far less stressful making money with affiliate marketing as compared to MLM. People like MLM because everything is set up and ready to roll.

Well, affiliate marketing is kind of similar in that way, because you are simply promoting existing products and services and earning commissions on any sales.
