Cheapest Managed WordPress Hosting - SiteGround

The cheapest managed WordPress hosting that I could find in my research is offered by a hosting company called SiteGround. They are a general website hosting platform, but do offer various tiers of managed WordPress hosting for those running WordPress sites and want optimum site performance.

Why Choose Managed WordPress Hosting?

First things first, why bother with managed WordPress hosting to begin with?

Let’s make a quick list:

  • Much faster page loading
  • More uptime
  • Website stability
  • More resources
  • Less websites sharing the servers (even on the cheapest plan)
  • Specialised WordPress support
  • More scope for website development and growth
  • More WordPress tools

Those are just a few of the major advantages to managed WordPress hosting. If you have a business website, or a website you really care about, then managed WP hosting really is the correct route to take with it.

Is SiteGround the Best?

That’s the question.

Is SiteGround the best managed WordPress hosting available?

Answer: No. But it is the cheapest I could find, and that was the purpose of this post. In fact, their prices for managed WP hosting start at a mere $3.95 per month, which is more than $10 a month cheaper than the next cheapest one I could find.

If you are on a strict budget but would really like to take advantage of some of the features managed WordPress hosting offers, then SiteGround may be the best choice for you. However, if you are after a real quality WP hosting experience, then there are better options out there, but they do cost more into the bargain.

Site Ground’s Managed WordPress Plans

  1. Start Up: $3.95 a month – 1 website, 10GB space, up to 10K monthly visitors, essential WordPress features.
  2. Grow Big: $7.95 a month – Multiple websites, 20Gb space, up to 25K monthly visitors, essential WordPress features, premium WordPress features.
  3. Go Geek: $14.95 a month – Multiple websites, 30Gb space, up to 100K monthly visitors, essential WordPress features, premium WordPress features, geeky WordPress features.

Take note that these are all discounted prices for new members. Once you are an existing member of SiteGround and it comes time to renew your hosting, the prices are about double the prices quoted above.

The Features of SiteGround Hosting

Let’s make another list:

  • 1 click website installer
  • 3 levels of ultra fast super caching
  • Auto updates
  • WordPress staging
  • WP-CLI enabled
  • Pre-installed Git
  • 24/7 tech support
  • Blazing fast site speeds
  • High security with advanced features

SiteGround offer some good features for such a budget priced managed WP hosting package. Some of these features are not available in the cheapest package, but you can check out what each package includes by paying a visit to their website.

Is SiteGround My Best Recommendation?

For managed WordPress hosting it’s a very good start for those on a tight budget. You get some good features and it’s better than having your business website running on generic shared hosting servers for sure. It’s certainly not the cream of the crop, though.

If you have the budget for it and want the very best WordPress hosting out there, then I recommend hosting with WP Engine. They are not the cheapest by any means, but they are not the most expensive either. What they do they are very good at. All they focus on is managed WordPress hosting and nothing else. The entire team at WP Engine live and breathe WordPress and they truly are WordPress specialists.

  1. Looks like siteground is good for beginners, while WP Engine is for those serious about having a website that can handle high traffic and function on many levels, like integrating online shopping.

So would Siteground be enough for me if i am just starting out in having my very own site? I am on a tight budget.
