What Is Microworkers?
There really are loads and loads of ways to make money on the internet, particularly small amounts of money. There are things like doing paid surveys for sites like Toluna, performing everyday tasks on rewards sites like Swagbucks, and then there are sites like Microworkers.
This site is somewhat of a freelancer site. People who need small tasks done post them on Microworkers, where members looking to earn some part-time coin can elect to complete the tasks for small rewards. All the tasks are small, hence the name “micro”.
Anyone can join Microworkers as either a client needing jobs done, or as a microworker looking to do the jobs advertised.
How It Works
First you need to register for a free account and get yourself set up with a PIN number. Once you’ve done that and filled out any necessary information, you are good to go to start earning on the platform.
It’s all pretty easy and fundamental to get started, so you shouldn’t encounter any hassles.
Those seeking to have tasks completed pay the Microworkers company, who, after taking their cut, then pay members to complete the tasks.
As an example of just how small some of these tasks might be, you can expect to be asked to do things like:
- Liking or commenting on a YouTube video
- Liking pages on Facebook or following people
- Testing websites and apps
- Doing Twitter posts
- Answering a short quiz
- Filling out captchas
- Searching the web for information
- Completing surveys
- Writing short reviews
- Data mining
- Transcribing
- Compiling contact lists
- Tagging
- Image emotion evaluation
- And heaps more…
The list really goes on and on, but as you can see most of the tasks available on Microworkers are really only tasks that may take a few minutes or so to complete.
When you perform a task, the owner of the task first has to approve that it was adequately completed before payment is issued.
Be careful with some of the tasks that are available. It’s been reported that occasionally some of the jobs involve working on tasks that involve online scams. It the job sounds suspect at all, then simply avoid it.
How Much Money Can You Make On Microworkers?
You’re not going to make much money on sites like this one, so go into it with the mindset of just being able to make a little bit of side cash at best.
In order to get paid your account first has to reach a minimum of $10. Even though that figure is small and achievable, there have been complaints from many members about it taking a long time to actually get paid after requesting a cash out.
This is where the Pin number comes in. It has to be mailed to you for security purposes, then used any time you request a payout via PayPal.
As far as the pay rate per job goes, this varies quite a lot, so there is no set figure. It all depends on the job and what the client is willing to offer. About the most you can expect would be $2 per job, but plenty of the tasks pay way less than that amount.
So as you can see, you would likely have to complete lots of tasks in order to make anything worthwhile. You certainly won’t be replacing your fulltime job with your Microworkers career, that’s for sure.
Target Audience
Microworkers would really suit people who are new to making money online and maybe want to try something simple first just to get a taste for an internet income. It’s not something that’s going to make decent money, so if that’s the goal, then it’s not wise to continue on a site like Microworkers for too long.

- Anyone can join and make some part-time money
- The tasks don’t take very long
What I Don’t Like
- There are complaints about there not being enough micro jobs to do
- The company can take forever to actually make a payout
- There is the hassle of receiving PIN numbers in the mail to verify your account before you can get a payout
- Some of the tasks involve online scams on occasion
- The pay is very low
- Others have complained that their accounts have been deactivated for no apparent reason
How Much Does Microworkers Cost?
It doesn’t cost anything to join Microworkers as a worker. It’s totally free. It really wouldn’t want to cost anything either, with the amount they pay you.
Is Microworkers a Scam?
Microworkers is not a scam, but also not a very profitable way to spend your time online if your goal is to make any serious sort of money at all. It can be an okay way to get started, but it’s not a gig that’s ever going to make you a decent income.
In my honest opinion sites like Microworkers basically exploit people for very low pay and are pretty much a complete waste of time. There are much better ways to spend your valuable time online if you want to make real money. Read below for what I recommend…
A Much Better Way To Make Money Online
I make my living entirely online with my affiliate marketing business. It’s a really simple business to do, costs hardly anything to run, and anyone of any age and from any background can do it successfully if you are shown how. You can do it part-time, or even make a fulltime gig out of it and quit your day job, allowing you the freedom to be your own boss, work from home and choose your own flexible hours.
If I can do this, anyone can. The income potential with affiliate marketing really has no limits. I know of some marketers pulling over 7 figures a year from affiliate marketing. I’m not in that league just yet, but I’m working on it.
