What Is Unique Rewards About and How Does It Work?
These sites are everywhere on the internet these days. There are sites that are purely about doing paid surveys, and then there are sites like Unique Rewards which offer paid surveys as well as other mundane tasks people can do to earn rewards points for cash. Swagbucks is another popular site similar to this.
Unique Rewards has been up and running since way back in 2003, so that’s a pretty decent timespan in the internet world. The downside with this platform compared with some others is that you have to be living in the USA, Canada or the UK to be eligible to use it and earn rewards.
When you first join, instead of having to pay anything, they actually pay YOU a $5 joining bonus. Like with all these sites, you need to reach a certain amount of either rewards points or dollar figure to request a payout, and in this case that amount is $20.
The claims of how well you can do on their site are extremely optimistic to say the least. Even if you spent all day every day on Unique Rewards and did everything you could do, you’d be lucky to make yourself about $5 all up. So never join something like this thinking it can make you fulltime money. Not even close. Nowhere near close.
What Can You Do On the Site To Earn Rewards?
Rewards sites differ from just plain old paid survey sites as they offer a variety of ways in which to earn small rewards, and I’ll list a few here:
- Paid surveys
- Cash offers to take action
- Clicks for cash
- Watching videos
- Reading emails
- Listening to their radio station
- Referring others to the platform
- Sign up bonus
- Cash back shopping
Just on the subject of the paid surveys, upon further digging I’d have to say that out of all the paid surveys sites I’ve ever been a part of or have reviewed, the payments for completing surveys on Unique Rewards are by far and away the lowest I have ever seen. Like, really pitiful amounts. Stuff like earning 5 cents for a 5 minutes survey.
That equals 60 cents an hour! The hell with that, I say.
And, one of my pet peeves with surveys, they will ask you a bunch of qualifying questions that consume your time, then tell you that you didn’t qualify for the survey and that you earned nothing for those valuable 5 minutes or so.
With the cash offers, these involve signing up with sites to get a supposed free offer, but what happens is you will usually be asked for your credit card details and they’ll start charging for and shipping you products you don’t want and didn’t even ask for.
You can also earn a massive 1 cent for clicking ads or watching advertising videos. And then there’s the radio station, where you earn about 3-5 cents if you manage to endure half an hour of it.
So, all in all, not exactly mega bucks to be made here for your valuable time. The only 2 payment options I could find were check and PayPal.
Target Audience
Paid surveys and the like can be a good place to start if you’ve never made any money online before. Even though the earnings basically suck, at least if you reach your first payout level and actually get paid, it will give you the belief that you can actually make money on the internet. Sites like this can be something to fill in a bit of time and earn some coins.
Tools and Training
You don’t really need any training to do any of the tasks on Unique Rewards. They are all very basic. The tools you need are all on the dashboard, such as the Offers Board where you can go to look for surveys to do or ads to watch, cash back shopping offers and so on.
The Pros
- It’s free to join and they do give you $5 to get you started
The Cons
- The payout for completing surveys and other task is tiny, the lowest I’ve ever seen
- It will take you a long time to reach a $20 payout at the rates they pay
- There are far better ways to spend your valuable time
- It’s only available to residents of the UK, Canada and the USA
How Much Does Unique Rewards Cost To Join?
It’s free to join, as these sites generally are, and they do give you that $5 joining bonus to kick things off. You also receive a $5 bonus for referring others, but only after they’ve reached a total of $20 earned on the site.
Is Unique Rewards a Scam?
I wouldn’t classify Unique Rewards as a scam in any way. There are loads of these sites out there. While they are legitimate enough, the problem lies in that the trade off of time for money is extremely low, and this platform is by far and away the lowest I have ever seen. Swagbucks and Inbox Dollars are pretty low too, but this one is way lower on payouts. I mean, 5 cents for completing a survey. I wouldn’t even bother clicking my mouse on the start button for that kind of cash.
If you really want to try a site like this just to get started making a little bit of cash online, then search out a better one. Unique Rewards is way too tight on the money.
Make Money Online With Affiliate Marketing
There are other ways to make much better money online for your precious time. You don’t have to be an experienced online entrepreneur either. Plenty of newbies do what I do and can make a living out of it in time.
What do I do online?
Affiliate marketing, and it’s such a simple business model. I’m not saying it’s easy and it doesn’t take work, but the concept of how affiliate marketing works is just so basic, it’s beautiful.
