Can you really get rich on the internet?

I wonder how many people have asked this question.

The answer is:

Of course you can!

Financial success via the internet is never guaranteed though. It can take hard work, vision, diligence and a bit of luck. Much like making riches in any other form.

Many people have become millionaires and billionaires via internet enterprises, and the possibilities are endless, really.

So what are some possible ideas or fields of endeavour that can make you rich online?

In this post we’ll look at 5 ways to get rich online. As I said, there are no guarantees, but you have just as much chance of generating wealth online (maybe even more chance) as in the offline business world.

#1 – Be A Game Changer

This first one on the list isn’t really an idea as such, but more of a concept. If you really want to make it big online with some sort of entrepreneurial enterprise, then you really need to be a game changer, or create something new and cutting edge. Think things like Facebook, YouTube and Dropbox. Sure, there are other things similar around now, but there weren’t when these platforms were created.

If you can create something or offer something of great value to people then you are already most of the way there. Once you have that it’s merely a case of getting people to know about it.

#2 – Go Viral

Easier said than done, but if you can find a way to make a piece of content go viral, then it could potentially lead to both fame and fortune for you. More often than not it’s a video that is likely to go viral, but not always.

Sometimes a website post or even a controversial social media post has the potential to go viral. However, setting out to try and make something go viral could just send you insane, as there is no set of rules or formula to follow. Why some content goes viral while other content doesn’t is really a mystery, but if you keep on putting stuff out there, you just never know.

#3 – Write An eBook

Writing books – especially eBooks – quite possibly gives you one of the greatest chances of striking it rich on the internet. Again there are no guarantees as there are millions of books out there, and these days anyone can write something and publish it on Amazon’s Kindle platform or any one of the multitude of other eBook retailers out there in cyberspace.

But it’s cheap to do and you don’t even have to do the writing yourself if you don’t want to. You can outsource through Fiverr or any other freelance site. Books can be on any subject and of any length. Some of my best selling eBooks have only been really short, so you don’t have to write anything novel length to publish and sell an eBook.

#4 – Affiliate Marketing

Along with eBooks, affiliate marketing is another one of my personal favourite ways for making money online. The sky really is the limit in this business. In all honesty, I haven’t struck it rich from affiliate marketing…..yet; but many other marketers have.

It can take time and work to get your affiliate marketing business going, but it’s also very cheap to set up and, if you work at building a strong email list you can promote to, you really can get to the stage where you can make a financial killing simply by sending out an email promoting the latest hot product that’s relevant to your list.

There really is just so much scope for making money with affiliate marketing. If you don’t know what affiliate marketing is, it’s very simple. You join forces with a company and promote their products on your website, through social media or via your email list.

When someone clicks through to the company’s website via your unique affiliate link and makes a purchase, you get paid a commission. You don’t need any stock or inventory and you don’t need to process orders or post anything. You are simply an online sales rep.

The best way to learn how to be successful at affiliate marketing is to do some training.

#5 – Sell Stuff

A natural progression of affiliate marketing is to develop and start selling your own products. You can even employ the help of affiliate marketers to promote your products for you.

You don’t have to be an affiliate marketer to sell stuff online though. Many people have made a fortune – or sold their businesses for a fortune – by setting up successful online stores that sell either physical products or digital products.

The big advantage of digital products is you create the item once and sell it over and over again. There is no shipping or packaging or stocking product. Some examples of digital products include the following:

• Music
• eBooks
• Online Courses
• Information Packs
• Software
• Apps
• Photos
• Graphic Designs

While I believe digital products are really the way to go in the online space, there is certainly plenty of cash to be made selling physical products online. It’s just more costly and labour intensive.
