Best WordPress Hosting Review - WP Engine

In the best WordPress hosing review we will be looking at WP Engine. Some may agree that it’s the best, while others may choose to disagree. That’s the real beauty of everything in the world – It’s all open to an individual’s interpretation.

But whether you agree with my post or not about WP Engine, the fact remains that they are a specialised team of WordPress fanatics that live for the WordPress platform and devote all their energies to people and businesses getting the very best performance from their WordPress sites.

Why Do I Like WP Engine?

Because they specialise, as I said above.

Most hosting companies out there are what I refer to as generic “one size fits all” hosting platforms. They cater to everyone, websites big and small, created with all types of software. Now while there’s nothing wrong with this all in approach to hosting and it has its place, those who actually care about the performance of their WordPress sites will be far better served hosting their websites on managed hosting by a company that knows WordPress and has designed their architecture specifically for the WordPress platform.

This is one of the main reasons I favour WP Engine when it comes to managed WordPress hosting.

If you had a particular health problem your GP would refer you to a specialist most likely. Why? Because they’ve done more in-depth study, education and research in a specific area. Well, that’s what WP Engine has achieved with their dedicated WordPress hosting company.

A Boutique Hosting Company

WP Engine doesn’t aim to sign on the masses. Their prices are not the cheapest for managed WordPress hosting (they’re not the dearest either), and so far they only host approximately 50,000 clients and about half a million websites in 120 countries. But that’s a good thing. It gives the company more scope to focus on its customers as well as not putting such a heavy drain on the servers and architecture.

Not everyone who wants managed WP hosting will host on WP Engine, and not everyone who has a website built it in WP.

WP Engine is designed for those with WordPress sites who really care about the performance of their site and how it reflects on their business and aids their business growth.

What Is The Best WordPress Web Hosting

The Benefits Of Hosting On WP Engine

Let’s look at some of the benefits very quickly:

  • Dedicated managed Word Press hosting
  • Blazing fast page loading
  • Excellent customer service
  • Variety of hosting plans
  • Enterprise grade security with multiple layers
  • Fulltime engineering staff and labs team
  • Almost 100% uptime
  • Highly scalable architecture
  • Firewall protection
  • Malware scanning
  • Evercache
  • SSL and CDN ready
  • Speed reports on your sites
  • Daily backups
  • 24/7/365 support
  • Developer tools
  • Real time performance analytics

There is a lot on offer over at WP Engine and it’s all geared towards WordPress, how it functions and getting the very best out of your WP sites while offering stable hosting that is always improving and highly secure.

All Is Not Perfect

They are a little pricier than some other companies offering managed WordPress hosting, but it has to be remembered that they specialise and are not running a general hosting operation for all types of sites, running budget hosting plans on overloaded servers on the verge of meltdown. WP Engine is worth the slightly higher price tag than managed hosting you might get somewhere such as Bluehost. I love Bluehost, but their managed WP hosting is shared with all their other offerings. They are not WordPress specialists.

Sometimes tech support can get a bit overloaded and overworked at time over at WP Engine as the company has been growing so fast in recent times.

WP Engine’s Prices

5 different hosting packages are available currently on WP Engine. 3 of these show the price per month as well as the benefits of each package. The last 2 you have to get in contact with the company to discuss the details and the cost. However, the 3 packages that do reveal all are probably enough to suit the majority of businesses and WordPress users anyway.

WP Engine Prices 1

The first package – the Personal Plan, suitable for just the one WP install – is only $29 a month, so quite reasonable. There is a bit of a jump up to the Professional Plan, which allows up to 10 WP installs, at $99 per month. The Business Plan, up to 25 installs, then leaps up to $249 a month.

WP Engine Is Worth It!

The prices may be a little higher than some other companies, and certainly higher than generic hosting on overloaded servers, but you definitely get what you pay for in this instance. These guys are specialists, so if it’s within your company’s budget to buy hosting from WP Engine, then just do it. It’ll prove to be a very wise business decision.

  1. Hi there. I really was impressed with the look and feel of your website. It’s really easy to look at.

For an old man you talk a little fast, but WP Engine looks like a great hosting platform for WordPress. I’ll definitely look into it for hosting for my next website.
