Whether you’re already a member of Wealthy Affiliate or someone who is thinking of joining, you might have asked the question yourself, or heard someone else ask: Do you make money at Wealthy Affiliate?
In this post I just want to clear up some misconceptions about Wealthy Affiliate and briefly explain what the Wealthy Affiliate platform is really all about.
Some Common Misconceptions
Occasionally members join WA assuming it’s some sort of get rich quick scheme, where you push a few buttons and sit back watching the money pour into your account. Those schemes are nothing but a fantasy. That’s not what Wealthy Affiliate is about.
Others mistakenly think WA is MLM (multi level marketing), where you grow a downline and make money from your downline.
Even others imagine Wealthy Affiliate to be some sort of revenue sharing system. It’s not that, either.
Often people join up having these misconceptions because the person or content that referred them to Wealthy Affiliate didn’t fully explain what it’s about.
What Wealthy Affiliate Primarily Is
Primarily, Wealthy Affiliate is 2 things:
- Training
- Community
The number one aim of Wealthy Affiliate is to teach people how to set up a business online (affiliate marketing) and generate an income from it.
The business is designed to be long-term, and making money from this business doesn’t happen overnight. It takes time, effort and learning, but the end results can be well worth it. People can create fulltime incomes from this and beyond.
Just as important is the community of active members at WA. These members come from all over the world, range in ages from teenagers right through to people in their twilight years, new members through to seasoned online professionals.
Every one of these members has something unique to offer the community at large, and over the years that I’ve been a Wealthy Affiliate member I have learnt so much from the community.
The above two facets of this great platform combined arm members with the tools, knowledge and support required to go out into the online world and conquer it by establishing their very own profitable presence in cyber space.

WA Has An Affiliate Program
As Wealthy Affiliate does have its own affiliate program, you can make direct commissions from the platform by referring other members. However, the main focus of much of the training is to make money online through something you love or are passionate about.
It doesn’t have to be the MMO (make money online) niche. It can be about whatever you want. With more than 3 billion people globally using the internet daily, the marketplace is massive.
What To Expect If You Join
If you do decide to join Wealthy Affiliate – either as a free Starter Member or paid Premium Member – don’t expect it to be a get rich quick scheme. Instead, expect to learn how to set up a business online that will generate great sources of income for many years to come, allowing you to live your dream lifestyle.
It takes learning, time and effort, but the results far outweigh the initial learning curve and work you have to put in.

I’m a also a member at WA, and I can confirm exactly what you just said. This is just like everything else no quick money method without putting any effort into it. WA really taught me how to build my own online business from scratch. This also includes putting some real work into it, but hard work pays off. So I’m happy that is decided to join WA.

I have seen tons of WA advertisements and reviews all around in the internet and it looks too good to be true, as it seems to me that everybody is earning money from it and thus felt a little fishy to me.
After reading your article, I now know what many of them probably went through heaps and tons of challenges before they met their goal and most importantly it’s not a get rich scheme.

Wealthy Affiliate is well worth trying out. It’s not get rich scheme by any means. It’s mostly a training platform, not so much some money making system. They teach you how to make money online. It takes a while to get things going, but worth it.
