What Is DonkeyMails?

DonkeyMails is a rewards site ( or a “get paid to” site) that boasts over 750,000 current and active members. They also claim to have paid out $1.9 million in rewards so far.

But hang on a minute. Let’s quickly do the math on those figures.

When you divide the current number of members into the total payouts, that comes to only $2.53 in payouts per person total. Not much at all. Sounds like it’s hardly even worth opening the website for that kind of cash.

I also find their website cluttered, with loads of small text and rather hard on the eyes. It certainly doesn’t present as being clean and user friendly. It’s quite similar to GPT Planet, only this website is much uglier.

Now while sites like Donkeymails can earn you a few pennies, it's not really a worthwhile way to spend your time online. Not if you want to make real money.

Why not start a really simple online business that costs virtually nothing and is all profit? I do affiliate marketing, and it brings in multiple streams of passive income every month. Check out the training at Wealthy Affiliate to get you started. It's FREE to join!

How It Works

This is a site that offers a dual purpose. Members can join for free and earn small rewards for doing simple and mundane tasks, such as:

  • Reading emails
  • Watching videos and ads
  • Playing games
  • Surveys
  • Signing up for various offers
  • And so on…

Its second function is to operate as a traffic exchange. You can either join just as an advertiser, or you can do both. Depending on the type of membership you have, the more advertising you will be eligible to receive.

Some of the memberships are paid, for which you receive more benefits and advertising services.

How Much Money Will You Make?

Not much, according to what I worked out earlier. That $2.53 is an average across all members. Some will make far more if they spend enough time on the site, while there will be others who don’t really bother to do anything and earn nothing.

You never make much money for your time on rewards sites like DonkeyMails. They charge advertisers far more than what they return to members for their efforts on the site.

Clicking on ads is one of the main ways to earn on DonkeyMails, as the site is a traffic exchange platform after all. But don’t expect to get much for all the ads you watch or click on. Some pay as low as one hundredth of a cent, or at the most one cent.

Pretty poor. Even at the highest rate of one cent, if you watch 100 ads a day that will only fetch you $1. How long will it take you to sit through 100 ads, I wonder?

Playing around on this website is hardly going to be a work at home career move. Hell, it likely won’t even make you some useful part-time cash.

You can receive payments by PayPal, Payza, PerfectMoney and SolidTrustPay. If you care to bother cashing out $1.

DonkeyMails Referral Program

If you can recruit like a maniac and get a lot of other people to join this platform, then you stand to make 10% of everything they earn. That’s on your direct referrals. The DonkeyMails referral program goes 5 levels deep, so you can also earn on the referrals of your referrals down to the 5th level. Percentages are lower and they are as follows:

  • Direct Referrals = 10%
  • Level 2 Referrals = 5%
  • Level 3 Referrals = 3%
  • Level 4 Referrals = 2%
  • Level 5 Referrals = 1%

Possibly this is a way to make the platform more worth your while, but you will need a lot of active members under you, and 10% of $0.0001 for a direct referral clicking an ad doesn’t amount to much.

Target Audience

Sites like this one are targeted at people wanting to earn some money online for the first time, or really anybody with some free time that would like to make small rewards in exchange for doing everyday online tasks.

What I Like

  • DonkeyMails has been around since 2005
  • They have a referral program that goes 5 levels deep
  • No minimum payout threshold

What I Don’t Like

  • The rewards they are willing to pay you are pathetic in all honesty
  • The website sucks from a user perspective
  • The costs for advertising are not that cheap compared to what they pay members to click on those ads
  • The traffic you get from your advertising will either be useless or non-existent
  • This platform, and others like it, really are a complete waste of your valuable time if making money is the goal
  • Be careful of signing up for free offers that want your credit card details. They’ll start charging your card once the free trial period is over if you forget to cancel
  • You’ll be lucky to make a few dollars a month on this site

How Much Does DonkeyMails Cost?

It doesn’t cost anything to join, unless you want to upgrade your membership to a paid one and get more advertising. Then it costs $7.99 to start with. You could be out of pocket more money if you join free trials and forget to cancel them before the trial period is over.

Is DonkeyMails a Scam?

DonkeyMails isn’t a scam. It’s a typical rewards/traffic exchange website that really offers very little in actual rewards. To me it’s a total waste of time getting involved, unless you just enjoy wasting your precious time.
