What Is Forever Living and How Does It Work?
Rex Vaughan founded this health and wellness multi level marketing company way back in 1978, in Scottsdale, Arizona. Some of their best selling products are aloe vera-based, such as the aloe herbal teas and the various fruit juices containing aloe vera.
There is also a very popular range of supplements like Forever Bee Pollen and Forever Bee Propolis. Overall Forever Living has products in the following categories:
- Aloe Vera
- Bee
- Drinks
- Nutrition
- Personal care
- Skin care
- Weight management
- Combo packs
As with all MLM systems, the products are rather pricey, but the general consensus seems to be a positive one. The prices on their website are hidden if you haven’t created an account, and you need to actually first add an item to the shopping cart in order to discover how much it costs.
As an example of pricing, a 17 serving pouch of a chocolate shake weight loss product will set you back around $25.
Forever Living has been going strong for around 40 years now, so they are obviously doing something right. The products can’t be too bad if the company is still in business.
As a side note, I actually didn’t know you could consume aloe-based products. I always thought aloe vera was for external use only. In my research for Forever Living, I have come across some complaints that it can cause diarrhoea.
One thing’s for sure. In the modern world everyone goes crazy over nutritional products, weight loss supplements, personal care products and anything to do with health and wellness. There are loads of MLMs out there that sell in this niche, and they always seem to be doing pretty well.
You could make money with this…maybe. But MLM is so tough and often a very slow, time consuming process. I find affiliate marketing far easier, especially when you follow the Wealthy Affiliate training. It's FREE to join too!
How To Earn With Forever Living
Is it possible to make some good money as a Forever Living distributor or affiliate?
Forever Living gets off on the right foot in this area, in my opinion, as they don’t seem to charge any joining fee and don’t make their distributors commit to a minimum monthly spend. Generally these are two pain points that tend to put me off MLM-type opportunities.
My understanding is affiliates have to make at least 2 sales to become commission-eligible. Forever Living pay up to a 43% commission on sales, don’t require you to pay a yearly membership, and don’t require you to have products auto-shipped to your door every month. You just buy the products you want to sell and make a profit on those sales.
Of course, being a MLM setup, you do create downlines and make smaller commissions on the sales results of your recruits. There are also performance bonuses up for grabs.

These types of business opportunities actually work better with smaller or lesser known companies, as the market hasn’t already been saturated. You have to remember this company has been peddling its products for around 40 years, so there are going to be a lot of reps out there selling it already in some 150 countries.
Plus, with health and wellness products being one of the preferred products in the MLM space, there are so many others competing for the same slice of the health and wellness pie.
All I’m pointing out is that this MLM niche is going to prove to be a very hard sell. I read somewhere once that the average distributors – after taking into account all the MLM opportunities out there – brought in less than $500 a year in income. I wouldn’t even be happy with that amount per week, let alone for an entire year!
To really make the most out of an opportunity like this, you need to get yourself online and create your own website to promote your products to a global market.
Target Audience
Some people just love trying out different MLM opportunities, so it will appeal to the serial MLMers. Many people wishing to try and get started in business for the very first time also choose network marketing because most of the hard work in setting things up has already been done. In my opinion these systems just suck up a lot of time for very little return.

- The products have quite a good reputation
- Forever Living has been around for a long time
The Cons
- The products are expensive, as they always are in MLM and in the health niche
- Millions of people in over 150 countries are already pushing these products
- There is a lot – I mean a LOT – of competition in the health and wellness niche
- It will be really hard work to make decent money this late in the game
- You will annoy everyone you know by trying to sell them products or recruit them into the company
Tools and Training
They have some pretty helpful videos on their website. Your sponsor will also help train you up in how to go about selling and recruiting. You will also find there are semi-regular meet ups somewhere nearby, where you can attend a hyped-up conference and pick up some motivation and tips.
You don’t receive any done for you websites or anything with Forever Living, but you should seriously consider getting yourself online if you decide you do want to sell their products.
How Much Does the Forever Living Business Opportunity Cost?
It’s actually free to join as an affiliate and as a distributor. All you need to spend on are the products you want to sell.
Is Forever Living a Scam?
It’s not a scam, although I’ve always considered the business setup of MLM a bit dubious on a number of levels. However, if MLM is your thing and you want to try your hand at selling health products, then FLP do offer some pretty generous commissions.

If you want to start a business, I suggest getting yourself online to do so. You don’t need to join some MLM company to make money selling the products of other companies. You can do it far more easily with affiliate marketing.
What’s even better about affiliate marketing over MLM is you don’t actually have to purchase any products first and on sell them. When you join a company as an affiliate, you receive unique product links. All you do is promote those products online (your own website, social media etc.), and when someone clicks through on your link and makes a purchase, you get paid a commission.
The retailer or manufacturer takes care of receiving the order, processing it and getting the product to the customer. You never buy the products. You simply promote them and get paid when sales are generated from your efforts.
It really is a simple and beautiful system.
