Some people go on a working holiday, which usually entails organising a special work visa for the country or countries they wish to visit. These visas are often twelve months in duration. Once in possession of a working holiday visa, the visa holder can legally work in the designated country for the allotted period of time.
But how can you make money on holiday if you don’t have a work visa? What if you are travelling as a tourist? Sure, you could take your chances and work illegally, seeking out part-time jobs that pay under the counter wages. But you risk deportation and possibly a stint in a jail cell if you go this route.
So what are the options then? What if you really want to go on an extended overseas vacation (or even a long holiday in your own country) but want to make money while you are travelling and seeing the world?
The Answer Is Very Simple
Work on the internet. Set up an online business or two that can be operated remotely. You could do some freelancing work if you are a writer or designer, anything that is digital in format and can be entirely produced online.
Another option is to run a business, such as selling your own digital products; either from your own website or on retail sites. You don’t want to mess around with physical products as you are travelling, not unless you have somebody back home who can take care of fulfilling orders. Or you could do drop shipping where the wholesaler fulfils the orders for you. Fulfilment by Amazon (FBA) is kind of like drop shipping, where Amazon send out all the products ordered. These are real options, but I have a simpler idea for you.
A Simpler Business Model For Travellers
I travel and I also run a business entirely online. All I need is my laptop and access to a half reasonable internet connection and I’m good to go.
I do affiliate marketing and it really is a no brainer business. It takes a little while to get this type of business up and going, where your website gets traffic and you start to make commissions, so it’s something you want to work on setting up at least 3 to 6 months out from your intended travel date. There is a bit of work initially, and it does take at least 3 months or more for the search engines to have trust in your website and to start ranking your posts and pages, but after that, things really start to pick up steam pretty much on their own.
The more visitors you get to your affiliate marketing website, the more people read your stuff and the more chance you have of making commissions off your promotions. It’s something you can monitor and add to while you are travelling and allows you to draw an income from a number of different sources while you are overseas. Most affiliates pay by direct deposit or PayPal, so no need to have to be home to cash cheques.
You are in complete control with this sort of business. You work when you want from wherever you want. You just need that laptop and internet connection, and a desire to work online for yourself and some discipline to actually do some work when required.

Don’t leave it to chance. Learn how to do an affiliate marketing business the right way by getting some quality training. Within 3 months you could have completed the training, all the while setting up a website, filling it with content and promoting products relevant to the subject you choose. You really can earn while you learn. It’s pretty easy, really. Anyone can do it and just about everyone from all different backgrounds and varying age groups have done it successfully over the years. Affiliate amrketing is extremely popular, and for good reason.
By this time period you should be making some money, or be close to it. As you add to your website and get better at your business, that income will keep growing, enabling you to make money on holiday and well beyond. This kind of business, when done right, will generate a good income for many years to come, allowing you the time and money freedom to travel whenever and wherever you like.

I completely agree with this. I was overseas this past summer for around three months. Three months was okay for a tourist visa, but I was not allowed to work there. But since I was able to work online, it didn’t pose a problem. I knew someone who had to get a work visa.
