If you’ve been looking for quality managed WordPress hosting for your valuable WordPress sites, then you’ve probably asked yourself the question: What is the best and most secure WordPress hosting provider? In this post I’ll write very briefly about my top 3 choices in order of preference when it comes to managed WordPress hosting. The final choice will be yours to make, but all three offer fantastic service and quality hosting.

WP Engine

WP Engine do absolutely nothing else. They are a specialist WordPress hosting company. Only websites created in WordPress can be hosted on their servers. WP Engine are fanatics about everything WordPress and all their staff are experts when it comes to this very popular CMS.

The entire architecture of their platform and servers has been specifically designed to get the very best out of each and every WordPress site hosted there, no matter how big or small. The emphasis is on lightning fast site speed, top level site security and exceptional reliability.

This company is the place to be if you want a hosting platform that understands your business and the demands of your websites. There is no shared generic hosting here, just purely professional managed hosting.

WP Engine offer a 60 day risk free guarantee to try out their hosting platform and prices start at a mere $29 per month.

Bluehost

The thing I really like about Bluehost is their prices. Sure, they are a generic shared hosting company, but their prices are unbeatable for the quality and reliability you receive when you host with these guys.

They also offer managed WordPress hosting as one of their packages, with prices starting at just under $20 a month.

While they are not full-on WordPress specialists like WP Engine, in my opinion they are the next best choice if you are seeking managed WordPress hosting. You won’t be disappointed with the quality, and tech support and customer support is on hand every day of the year to field your queries. Bluehost have automatic site backups and are renowned for very fast page loading speeds, which is exactly what you want for your WordPress sites.

Don’t worry that they are a general hosting company. Their managed WordPress hosting is top notch.

Wealthy Affiliate

Wealthy Affiliate differ from the first two in that this company is predominantly a training platform for learning how to set up an affiliate marketing business (or any online business for that matter). This added facet of Wealthy Affiliate may or may not interest you, but a big part of their services is managed WordPress hosting, as all sites created and hosted on their platform run WordPress.

I trained with WA and have been hosting some sites with them for years and have rarely had any issues. Their servers are fast and reliable with high levels of site security. Tech support is lightning fast, answering any queries or looking into any problems within minutes of writing to them.

You can host up to 50 websites on their servers for the price of membership, and membership includes the hosting, as well as gaining access to all their great training and everything else the Wealthy Affiliate site has to offer.

It’s a great option I decided to include here if you want to learn an online business as part of the hosting deal.

  1. This seems like a great article on web hosting. I’ve tried Hostgator before, and they seem to have a very good reputation and excellent service. I’m currently using Wealthy Affiliate as my hosting service, but mainly using Wealthy Affiliate because of the outstanding training that they offer. What service would you recommend in terms of domains? Have you tried Namecheap or Godaddy?

  2. It’s a good idea to compare various hosting providers as you’ve done here. I haven’t had any experience with WP and Blue Host and I’m sure they are just as good. My number one recommendation would be Wealthy Affiliate for the following reasons. You can Host 50 sites, the community is second to none, the training are superb, you can now buy your domain names and this comes free with email, privacy, SSL certificate. In my own opinion, WA offers the best value of the three.

    • Wealthy Affiliate does offer a lot with their hosting alone, as well as great training. Not everyone is going to be interested in affiliate marketing training just to get web hosting though, and you can get hosting for $19.99 a month on Bluehost and $29 a month on WP Engine, as compared to $49 a month on WA. You can also host membership sites, directories and the like on the managed hosting provided by Bluehost and WP Engine, something you are not allowed to do on WA’s servers.

  3. Hi there,
I have used a few of the most popular providers from time to time and I did’nt see a great difference between any of them to be honest. I guess some will have benefits and advantages over others, but to me they are pretty much all the same. Its down to cost for me…you get what you pay for.
    Cheers………PB

    • Hi Phil. Have you used them for managed WordPress hosting? WP Engine specialise in WordPress and nothing else. Their entire hosting platform is built around WordPress to get the very best out of sites hosted on their platform. The same with Bluehost’s managed WordPress hosting. Much faster site speed and greater stability and security.

  4. I have tried several managed VPS hosting providers and end up with rosehosting. The service is superb and they provide full hand holding support.

    • Hi James. Thanks for sharing. I haven’t heard of Rosehosting. I notice you mention managed VPS hosting. Does Rosehosting offer managed hosting for WordPress sites specifically; hosting dedicated to only WordPress?
