What Is Isagenix About?

This is yet another multi level marketing business that sells and promotes health products, and more specifically, weight loss supplements. Weight loss is such big business and products that supposedly help with it are always in demand, regardless of what they cost. These are not the only products Isagenix has on offer. They also produce health and wellness products as well as anti-aging solutions.

The company was founded in 2002 and has sold millions of products to consumers and associates since then. Today, Isagenix still seems to be going strong.

It’s possible to make money with MLM, but it’s one of the hardest ways. I much prefer the simplicity of affiliate marketing. It’s easy when you follow the Wealthy Affiliate training. Join FREE!

How Does the Isagenix Business Opportunity Work?

As this is essentially a make money online resource site, our focus here is on the business opportunity associated with Isagenix, rather than whether you should purchase their line of products for your own personal use.

Isagenix states: “Our solutions are not only for health, but wealth creation too”.

As mentioned, the business structure is MLM and works very similar to most other MLM opportunities. So many these days are selling products in the health, wellness and weight loss niches. It’s becoming an extremely saturated market if you want to try and make money from it even as a sideline gig, let alone fulltime.

The really big claim from Isagenix regarding the business opportunity is this: “You will be making $5000 in the next 3 to 6 months and will eventually become a millionaire”.

I’m yet to meet anyone who is a millionaire from MLM. Actually, I’m yet to meet anyone who has even made a profit; and I know quite a few people involved in MLM and network marketing gigs of all kinds – Things like Amway, Mary Kay and a host of others.

Isagenix Associates

The Compensation Plan

First you need to register as an associate, which will cost you an upfront fee of $29 for the registration process. This is renewable every year. You are then required to buy a business starter pack. Next, you need to recruit 2 people and help those 2 people recruit a further 2 of their own. And so it goes on. This will build your down line.

Of course, the amount of money you can make will depend on how active you are and everyone in your down line is. It also depends on whether those in your down line actually bother to sell any products or recruit any new members.

Isagenix state that you can grow your down line to unlimited levels. You receive commissions on the products you sell directly, smaller commissions from your direct recruits, group bonuses associated with your down line, and a reduced price for products for your own personal use.

Although Isagenix makes huge claims about how much money you can earn, the reality is that only a very select few ever make big money from MLM, and those people are the founders and those right near the very top of the pyramid. The majority of people make some part-time cash at best, while most never make a profit from multi level marketing. They just expend a lot of time and wasted energy in most cases.

In fact, the average yearly income for associates selling the Isagenix dream is allegedly only a paltry $145. Did I mention that was for a whole year? That equates to $12 a month, and I’m not sure that that’s profit.

If you get lucky and develop a really motivated and active down line you could earn a decent monthly income from commissions and bonuses, but for the majority it will require far too much time and effort to ever reach this point.

The Cons

  • Their products have a reputation for largely being ineffective
  • The products as extremely expensive – as is the case with all MLM product lines
  • The products contain unhealthy additives, but not really any different from many of the processed foods we eat on a daily basis
  • Most people never make a cent from selling Isagenix (as in a profit)
  • Millions of people across the globe are pushing these products, so competition is fierce
  • You’ll be entering the business at the very bottom of a huge pyramid
  • Likely you will annoy the absolute hell out of your family and friends, and everyone else you come in contact with
  • It’s very hard building and maintaining an active down line, which is what’s required to make real money

Tools and Training

The person who introduces you to the business is responsible for showing you the ropes. Once you know what you are doing, then it’s your job to train up anyone you introduce to the Isagenix opportunity. There are business kits available, but everything comes at a price. The Isagenix website itself has quite a bit of information once you sign on as an associate and have full access.

Isagenix Products

How Much Does the Isagenix Business Opportunity Cost?

Product purchases aside, you will be up for an annual fee of $29 just to be considered an associate. Once you join you will be required to purchase a Starter Pack full of products, the cheapest option being $269, but it’s recommended you buy the $559 pack.

This helps guarantee that money continues to flow throughout the business. Isagenix also encourage associates to use the product themselves so they can confidently promote it to others.

Is Isagenix a Scam?

I’m always loathe to label opportunities a scam unless it’s blatantly obvious that they are. I don’t see Isagenix as being a scam, but it is expensive like all MLMs are, the effectiveness of the products is questionable at best, and it can be almost impossible to make any useful income for the time and energy required to truly develop a business in the multi level marketing world.

Unless you really want some super high priced wellness products for yourself and absolutely love the hard slog which is network marketing, then I’d recommend giving the Isagenix business opportunity a big miss.

Start a Profitable Online Business Instead

I’ve never been a fan of network marketing and MLM, even though I have indulged in the past. These days I prefer to operate business entirely online, and this suits me just fine. With affiliate marketing I get to work from home or anywhere I choose to be. I can travel internationally and take my business with me. My online business doesn’t tie me to any one spot.

Like anything worthwhile it does take a commitment. There is work to be done, but in time the income derived from affiliate marketing is often passive in nature, and work you did in the past continues to generate income well into the future. There’s nothing better.
