What Is Knowledge Panel and How Does It Work?
My website is all about helping people find ways to make real money. That's why I write so many reviews of make money products and training. This helps you make informed decisions about what's good and what to avoid. I'm glad to see you here reading this review, as it shows you're wise and do your homework before joining something.
This platform has been around since 1999, so almost 20 years now. Unlike some of the other rewards sites which offer a variety of tasks in order to earn rewards points, Knowledge Panel is all about taking online paid surveys and having your opinion and knowledge heard. We all like to have our opinion count for something, and this platform gives you that opportunity, while earning a little bit of extra cash in the process.
Surveys will often be based on the criteria you input for your profile, so the company can determine which surveys to send you that will be relevant to your interests and life experiences. Some of the subjects or types of surveys you might receive include:
- Information for TV channels and networks
- National and international polls
- Data collecting for advertising campaigns
- Market research
- And many more…
When you join you are instantly awarded a sign up bonus of $10. Not bad for a platform that’s free to join and offers paid surveys to make money. As you take part in the surveys you will earn rewards points that will accumulate towards your cash out amount. 1000 rewards points is equivalent to $1. The majority of surveys will earn you 1000 points and take about 20 minutes of your time. Some surveys can be quite long and will award up to 4000 points.

In order to be eligible for a cash out, your need to reach a total of 25,000 points (or $25). Depending on how often you receive surveys, how long they take and how many rewards points are on offer, it can actually take a while to reach that payout threshold. And you’ll be making approximately $3 per hour on average for your valuable time. Some people estimate it’ll take around 4 or 5 months to earn enough to receive a payout.
Payment can either be redeemed in the form of a check, or you can use your $25 worth of points and redeem them for various gifts, prizes and products available on the Knowledge Panel marketplace. Some of these include:
- Automotive
- Apparel
- Health and beauty
- Luggage
- Personal care
- Fitness and sports
- Travel
- Toys and games
- Watches
- Electronics
- And lots more…
There is also the option of using your points to gamble on their sweepstakes competition, but it’s not really worth it as you don’t win much.

Target Audience
I believe these websites – surveys and rewards – are really directed at people who just have a bit of spare time, spend it on the internet anyway, so figure they may as well make just a little bit of money in the process. Doing paid surveys can be a confidence booster for those who want to know it really is possible to make money online. It gives them proof in a small way.
What I Like
- They focus on surveys only, so not as many useless distractions
- They send you the surveys so you don’t have to search for them
- The company has been around for a long time and is well respected
- The $10 sign up bonus
What I Don’t Like
- They don’t send out surveys often enough
- It can take months before you reach the payment threshold
- You’ll be lucky to earn $3 an hour
- All surveys ask a series of qualifying questions first. If you don’t pass muster, you don’t get to do the actual “paid” part of the survey and you’ve wasted precious time
- You have to be 18 or over and live in the USA to participate
- You certainly won’t make a decent income out of Knowledge Panel
How Much Does Knowledge Panel Cost?
It’s totally free to join and they even give you a bonus $10 when you sign up. Unfortunately there are no bonuses at all if you refer other members. Some other platforms will offer an incentive, but Knowledge Panel don’t do this.
Is Knowledge Panel a Scam?
It’s not a scam, but it’s just not a very profitable way to spend you valuable time. I’ve never been a member of Knowledge Panel, but I have been a member of a number of other paid survey sites, and they all suffer from that distinct lack of real reward for your time.
It’s a tedious and painful way to make money in my opinion. It’s all too slow and the pay is way too low.

Of course money can be made on the internet in so many ways, ways that pay a hell of a lot better than doing paid surveys.
