What Is My Survey All About?
My Survey is a part of Lightspeed, and both are owned by parent company, WPP. Basically My Survey acts as the go between from consumer to product manufacturer or business owner.
Businesses and product creators need regular feedback from consumers in their target market group, and one of the best ways to receive valuable feedback is through surveys. Most people are not going to want to spend time filling out surveys and answering questions if there is nothing in it for them, so companies are willing to pay for the time of consumers to do this.
That’s where My Survey comes in. They bring in the businesses and match the surveys up with relevant survey participants. It makes it easier for those businesses looking for survey participants, and it also makes for a one stop shop for participants to find surveys to take.

How It Works
It’s totally free to join My Survey and the myriad of other survey companies out there. Once you join you will be required to complete your profile, which includes answering a series of questions about yourself and your interests so the team at My Survey know which surveys will be a good fit for you.
The companies pay My Survey, and My Survey (after taking their cut) pay you.
Each time you complete a survey you will accrue rewards points. Once your points reach a certain level you will be able to cash them out for online vouchers or donations to certain charities. You can also cash out for gift cards as well as actual money through your PayPal account.
Sometimes you will even be offered free products to try out at home. In return you will offer your honest opinion of the product.
You need to first reach 1000 points, or a monetary value of $10, before you are eligible to cash out. The average 5 minute survey pays approximately 10 points. If you do the math on that, you are only making $1.20 per hour for your time.
Not exactly big bucks.
I’ve been involved in online surveys for about 5 years now, including doing surveys through My Survey. Sometimes you can make about $5 an hour, but generally it’s less, and it’s one of the things I don’t really like about taking surveys.
Too much time for too little reward.
But still, it can be better than nothing at times, and they are easy to do.
Who Is The Target Audience?
Taking paid surveys can be good part-time cash on the side for just about anyone. They can be done at your own pace in your own time, and from the comfort of home. Even those that only pay out in vouchers and gift cards can be great for buying some products you need or be used as gifts. It’s a way for people new to making money online to get a start. You won’t make much doing it, but it will prove to people that money can really be made online. It might give you the confidence to go on and try other things.

Is My Survey a Scam or Legit?
It’s not a scam in any way. It’s just not a very profitable way to spend your time. Making a few dollars an hour is not great, but if times are tough or options are limited, the cash can prove to be quite handy. It’s not hard work, just a bit tedious and low-paying.
One gripe I personally have about paid surveys is they all start with a series of qualifying questions to ascertain whether your participation in the actual survey is relevant enough. Some companies take advantage of these qualifying questions and ask about 20 questions or more before telling you that you didn’t qualify. That’s a lot of wasted time for you and free information for the company who has requested the survey.
Every paid survey company I’ve worked with has proved legit, and My Survey is above board. Just don’t expect to make much money with this. If you hope to make real money online, then read below.
How To Make Real Money Online
Sometimes I still do the odd survey, but these days I don’t really have much time for it. The majority of my time is now better spent on my online business – which is affiliate marketing.
Setting yourself up with an affiliate marketing business is really cheap and easy to do. People from all different backgrounds and of all ages are involved in affiliate marketing, and many of them are very successful. Some even pull in 6 or 7 figures per year. It can even be a great part-time money earner if you don’t want to get into it fulltime, and the income becomes passive.
Whether you just want to bring in an extra couple of hundred dollars a week or $10k per month, it’s all possible with affiliate marketing.
