What Is Zija International?
Zija is yet another MLM company involved in the health and wellness niche, as well as beauty products. I’ve lost count of how many of these MLM companies sell vitamins, potions and nutritional supplements. It’s such a way over-saturated niche it’s not funny. They all charge the earth for their products too, and Zija International is no different.
Zija make some major health claims too, and from the business opportunity side, say you will make a lot of money promoting their product line, as well as in recruiting.
Zija International currently operates in over 50 countries worldwide, but has been running its head office out of Utah for about 10 years now.
Multi level marketing is tough. I much prefer the simplicity of affiliate marketing. It's easy to learn and earn when you follow some great training which you can join for free.
Zija Products
They have a well laid out, comprehensive product catalogue on their site. It’s some 38 pages long, so I’m not going to list all their products here. Zija pride themselves on only creating products from natural, organic ingredients. Let’s take a glance at what kinds of products Zija actually has available:

- Nutritional shakes
- Healthy teas
- Protein shakes and supplements
- Energy bars
- Personal care products
- Skincare
- Essential oils
- Aloe Vera and coconut products
- Multi vitamins
- Weight loss and fitness supplements
- Dietary and weight loss regimes
As you can see, there is quite a bit on offer. Just in the essential oils range alone there are about 50 different products or so.
Moringa is a key ingredient in many of the Zija products. It is a natural plant that many claim has some amazing health benefits and healing properties. While Zija do sing the praises of this naturally-occurring miracle plant, they can’t make hard and fast claims as to its benefits and they are largely unproven.

The Zija International Business Opportunity and Compensation Plan
So now let’s take a peek at the Zija International business opportunity and the compensation plan.
I love how all MLM businesses claim you are buying into a business opportunity, when all you’re really doing is paying for the right to be a sales rep of Zija. You never own a business with these companies. If you start selling Zija, then Zija still owns the business, you don’t.
But anyway, I digress.
I personally find all MLM compensation plans a little on the confusing side, but like with any MLM venture, the focus isn’t just on product sales, but recruiting a downline and getting as many people on the Zija train as possible.
This is how most multi level marketing companies really make money; by having their members recruit others and forcing their members to purchase a minimum amount of product every single month. And that’s not to mention the fees they charge people to actually become distributors. It’s all about making those team commissions, so it’s vital that you get on the right team to have any chance of financial success.
Statistics show that from all MLM opportunities combined worldwide, roughly only 10% of people actually make any money, and of those that do, the average yearly income is only around $500.

Target Audience
Generally the MLM business opportunity is targeted at people looking to make a lifestyle change or perhaps make some side income. The MLM business model suits many people because they don’t have to start a business from the very beginning. They are simply joining an already established business as a promoter and sales rep, basically. You will never really have your own business by getting involved in network marketing.
What I Like
- They have a huge range of products to choose from
- The products seem like pretty decent quality and well received by those who use them
What I Don’t Like
- As is usual with MLM, the prices of the products and business starter kits are really expensive
- The health, wellness and beauty niche is so saturated you’ll really struggle to make money trying to sell Zija products
- You are not buying a business with Zija, but merely the right to be a sales rep and recruitment agent for them
- The focus is more on recruitment and selling its members products than it is on actual retail sales
- You are required to spend a minimum per month to remain eligible to earn commissions and bonuses from your downline
How Much Does Zija Cost?
Zija will cost you a minimum of $41.90 to get started. This pays for your enrolment kit, which includes business and marketing materials, as well as a book about the “Miracle Tree”. On top of this you will need a product starter kit as well, which will set you back at least $299.95 for the cheapest one.
Is Zija a Scam?
I know a lot of people claim MLM businesses are a scam, and they can be in some ways, but overall they do all sell products, and often quite good products, albeit very expensive ones.
So is Zija a scam? I don’t think so.
They have a massive range of products, but as a business venture I wouldn’t be jumping up and down to recommend it. For starters, it’s extremely hard work trying to make decent money in network marketing of any kind. Secondly, the health and wellness niche is by far and away the most common one when it comes to network marketing businesses. Think of all the competition out there trying to sell these products or recruit people.
I’d give the business side a miss – Seriously. There are much better ways to make some money, part-time or fulltime.
Don’t Like MLM? Try Affiliate Marketing Instead!
I much prefer making my money with affiliate marketing. For starters, I can do it all online and work entirely from home. I also don’t need to recruit anyone to make money. Some affiliate platforms involve a small degree of recruitment. Just depends what products or services you are promoting.
As an affiliate you’re not restricted to only promoting the products and/or services of just the one company, either. There are millions of products out there with affiliate programs attached, so you can pretty much promote whatever you like in any niche.
