Is O2 Worldwide a scam or not? That’s the question many people have been asking about this network marketing deal. Here we have yet another health and wellness company that chooses to sell its products by the MLM method, but is this one worth joining?

What Is O2 Worldwide?
Dan Putnam founded O2 Worldwide with a vision of changing people’s lives, as well as being passionate about creating a business opportunity for millions of entrepreneurs across the globe. The opportunity and O2 products are now available in more than 70 countries.
This MLM company is yet another one of multitudes operating in the very saturated health and wellness niche. However, they have come up with something a little different, with oxygen drops being their flagship product.
Of course, this is more than just about a few health supplements. The O2 Worldwide company is more focused on its business opportunity and massive recruitment.
It’s possible to make money with network marketing, but man it can be hard. There are easier ways, such as affiliate marketing. There’s no direct selling and no recruiting. It’s pretty simple when you follow the Wealthy Affiliate training. You can even get started for FREE!
The O2 Worldwide Products
There really are only three core health and wellness products available in the O2 range, and they are:
- O2 Drops
- Daybreak
- Nightfall
The flagship product O2 Drops contains what the company refer to as “activated stabilized oxygen with lyophilic third state minerals”. What this really means is they’ve created a supplement that combines oxygen with trace minerals for health and wellbeing.
At least it sounds different to everything else flooding the market these days; either from MLM companies or retailers.
Daybreak is an energy and vitamin drink designed to help you start your day full of life and vitality.
Nightfall is the exact opposite, containing ingredients to help you get a relaxed and peaceful night’s sleep.
The MLM Business Opportunity
O2 Worldwide is typical multi level marketing when it comes to their business opportunity.
Do you know why so many companies these days choose MLM to sell and distribute their products over going the traditional retail route?
Because there are just so many advantages to the MLM compensation plan that benefit the company rather than its distributor base. Essentially most sales are made to the very people who choose to work for the company. This means O2 have a ready-made customer base to sell to that also does all the work for them, basically for free. O2 Worldwide only needs to pay out money after a result is achieved.
There are no wages to pay, the distributors do the bulk of the promoting and advertising. The distributors do virtually all the selling and are often forced to buy most of the product to remain eligible to earn. It’s also the unpaid distributors that spread the work, actively recruiting and growing the organisation so they have a slim chance of making some actual money from their efforts and hard work.
To me MLM is a rort that just takes advantage of masses of people, while constantly pumping up their enthusiasm with the promise of a dream lifestyle that will only ever be the reality for those at the very top of the pyramid.

The O2 Worldwide Compensation Plan
Essentially with just about every MLM opportunity their are 2 main ways to earn money as a distributor (sales rep is what you really are):
- Direct retail sales
- Earning money from your recruits
MLM is founded on the principal of mass recruiting in order to really be able to earn, so that’s where the main focus is with the O2 Worldwide compensation plan.
There is one positive about this particular MLM company over most others, and that is they don’t charge a joining fee or ongoing annual fee to be a distributor. However, you will be required to purchase a starter kit to begin. They also don’t make you purchase products every single month, which is also a good thing.
The structure is a binary one, meaning you have both a left and right leg to your downline. Some ways you can earn include:
- Direct sales
- Fast start bonus
- Two team pay
- 100% matching bonus
- Car bonus and K Club bonuses and prizes
There are essentially 10 different ranks to be achieved within the organisation, and they are:

Is O2 Worldwide An Illegal Pyramid Scheme?
To be an illegal pyramid scheme, O2 Worldwide would have to rely solely on recruitment to survive as well as have no products of any tangible value. As O2 does have some real products, and they can be sold at a retail level, they can’t be classified as an illegal pyramid scheme despite the pyramid style of compensation and advancement.
Target Audience
MLM always targets people either passionate about the actual products, or those wanting to join an opportunity that is already established and known.
What I Like
- They don’t charge a membership fee
- There is no minimum monthly product spend
- Their products are a little different and more unique
What I Don’t Like
- Health and wellness is a highly saturated niche market with many big players
- MLM of any kind is one of the hardest ways to make money
- You will need to recruit like crazy and advance up the ranks to have any chance of making money with this
- 95% of people fail to make money with MLM
- They only have 3 products, which means their main focus is all about recruitment
- Like all MLM ventures, the products are over-priced for what they are
How Much Does O2 Worldwide Cost?
There is no joining fee, but you do have to purchase at least one product to officially be recognised as an active member. The cheapest product is the O2 Drops at $39.99.
Is O2 Worldwide a Scam?
I don’t see any scam here. In some ways the deal is a little better than plenty of other MLM opportunities I’ve reviewed. However, they are still in the health and wellness niche, and that’s a really tough one to make money in due to the enormous competition.
MLM is hard enough without picking a niche that has literally been done to death. There are better ways to make money. See below…
Forget MLM – Make Money With Affiliate Marketing
I’ve done both and can say with all certainty that affiliate marketing is a way better method to earn income than multi level marketing. I’ll quickly list just some of the advantages so you can see the benefits:
Little or zero recruitment necessary- No buying and selling expensive, over-priced products
- Simply promote existing products to a global market
- Work from home entirely online
- Take your business with you when you travel
- You actually own your own business (unlike with MLM)
- Be your own boss and work your own hours
- You don’t have to be a socialite to be successful
That’s just a few of the reasons why affiliate marketing is better than MLM. There are loads more.
