What Is Perfectly Posh?

Perfectly Posh Is a ScamThis one is definitely targeted at the ladies, although men can certainly take advantage of some of the products as well. As far as the business side goes, Perfectly Posh definitely has a feminine slant.

The company was founded by Ann Dalton and Andrew McBride in 2011, offering both a range of personal pampering and beauty products, as well as an opportunity to make money by joining the business as a distributor for the company.

The products are well-received and seem to be a hit with a lot of people. I think the name of the business has a certain appeal as well. After all, who doesn’t like the sound of being a bit posh and indulging yourself with some much-deserved pampering?

You can make some money getting involved in network marketing, but man it’s a hard way to make some coin. I much prefer the simplicity of affiliate marketing.

There’s no direct selling or recruiting involved, either. To learn more about how easy it is to get started and earning, just check out Wealthy Affiliate. It’s FREE to join!

Perfectly Posh Products

The Perfectly Posh product range is quite extensive, so I’m not going to individually list every product available here, as this review is more focused on being able to earn money with the Perfectly Posh business opportunity.

These are the main product categories:

  1. Bath
  2. Body
  3. Face + Lips
  4. Hair
  5. Hands + Feet

Within each main category is a multitude of products ranging from soaps and body scrubs, right through to hair products.

Whenever a company decides to use multi level marketing as the predominant means of selling and distributing its product range, the prices of the products naturally go way up. It’s the very nature of the compensation plan that causes this, so just be aware that the prices will not be cheap.

As an example of pricing, a bag of bath salts (which is simply Epsom salts with some fragrance) sells for a whopping $20. You can buy Epsom salts in the supermarket for next to nothing.

To be fair though, their range of products does have some rather unique and quirky elements to them that you won’t find anywhere else.

The Perfectly Posh  Business Opportunity

This is where I have trouble with any MLM opportunity. You see, the very structure of MLM is designed to greatly favour the company and not those in the distribution network. MLM, by its very design, is all about giving the most to those at the top and the least to the vast majority doing all the work.

If you really think about it, Perfectly Posh (and every other MLM company out there) gets itself a free workforce. Yes, they do pay commissions and bonuses, but at the prices they charge they can certainly afford to.

My point is, they save bucket loads on advertising and distribution. The distributors do all the selling, promoting and most of the product purchasing. They say you will have your own business and create your own destiny, but you don’t really. Perfectly Posh always own the business. You’re nothing more than a sales rep that works on a commission only basis.

MLM ventures don’t pay wages or retainers, and most of them force their members to purchase a certain amount of product every single month to remain eligible to earn commissions and bonuses. It’s almost like extortion. Most of them even charge you a fee to earn the right to be a sales rep for them.

Often these businesses will have great products, but the real issue lies within the business structure. If you want to make a decent income, it’s very hard to do with multi level marketing. There are much easier and fairer ways out there.

The Compensation Plan

In order to participate in the business and the compensation plan, you must first purchase a Start Kit for $99. The kit actually comes with quite a few products and product samples you can share.

There are a number of ways you can earn. At a retail level, direct sales of Perfectly Posh products will net you a 20% mark-up.

However, selling at retail level is not where the money’s at when it comes to MLM. The real money comes from recruiting new, active members into your downline so you can earn residual commissions on your referrals, bonuses, and move yourself up the ranks to make bigger money.

One good thing about the Perfectly Posh compensation plan is they don’t insist that you personally purchase X amount of product every month to be considered active. So long as you move a total of $300 or more worth of product every 6 months you will maintain your active distributor status.

Ways you can earn include:

  • Direct sales
  • Residual downline commissions
  • Personal bonuses
  • Team bonuses
  • Rank achievement bonuses
  • And more…

Following are the ranks you can aspire to from lowest to highest:

  1. Protégé
  2. Pink
  3. Pink Plus 1
  4. Pink Plus 2
  5. Pink Plus 3
  6. Premier
  7. Silver Premier
  8. Gold Premier
  9. Platinum premier

These compensation plans can get a little confusing, but I’ll link you to a post that explains it in more detail.

Is Perfectly Posh a Pyramid Scheme?

Just about all MLM companies operate on a pyramid business and compensation structure. However, that doesn’t mean they are operating illegally.

A “naked” pyramid scheme is what has been outlawed in most countries. This kind of scheme is one that contains no products or services of any real value. These schemes also rely totally on recruitment and fresh money to survive.

As Perfectly Posh has real products and products that can be sold at a retail level and not just internally, it cannot be classified as an illegal pyramid scheme.

Target Audience

This one definitely targets the ladies, especially on the business side of things. Men could potentially use some of the products as well, but as a business opportunity, I couldn’t see too many guys pushing this to make some money. Women, definitely.

What I Like

  • At least this MLM company is not yet another one in the super saturated health and wellness niche
  • Some of their products do seem very original
  • The name of the company is very catchy
  • Generally the products seem well received
  • No minimum monthly spend or auto-ship
  • No annual fee

What I Don’t Like

  • As per all MLM businesses, the prices are excessive
  • Statistics show that some 95% of distributors fail at MLM
  • The average yearly earnings for a MLM distributor (for those that actually do make some money) is only about $500 before expenses
  • You will likely spend more money than you make doing this as a business
  • You never actually own your business with MLM
  • You’re basically paying the company to be a sales rep for them
  • The only way to have a chance at making real money with MLM is to recruit like crazy, and that’s the hardest part of all

How Much Does Perfectly Posh Cost?

To become a distributor – what they call a Protégé – you need to purchase a starter kit for $99 and make sure you either buy or sell at least $300 worth of product every 6 months to remain in active status.

When you start moving up the ranks, you will be required to up your game with sales figures in order to maintain your rank.

Is Perfectly Posh a Scam?

No it’s not a scam. As is typical in all MLM, the prices of the products are sky high, but that’s to be expected. The products might be really good, but are they really worth the price tag?

The company and its products seem fine, but as a “business” opportunity, I don’t see it as a good deal. Multi level marketing by nature is an extremely hard way to make a decent income consistently. The business structure is all designed to favour the company and not the vast majority of its free workforce. I say free because they don’t actually pay anyone wages or a retainer. Only commissions and bonuses.

There are far better and easier ways to make money than a MLM venture of any kind.

If you love the products and are not stressed whether you make much money from the business side, then by all means go for it. But if you goal is to make serious cash, then look for something else.

Affiliate Marketing Is Way Better Than MLM

I do affiliate marketing for a living and it seriously has way more advantages over anything MLM has to offer if the goal is to have your own business and earn decent money for your time.

Here are just a few of the advantages affiliate marketing has on multi level marketing:

  • No recruiting
  • No downlines necessary
  • Work from home entirely online
  • No buying and selling products
  • No joining fees or minimum monthly spend
  • Make money while you travel
  • Promote to a global marketplace
  • Earn up to 100% commissions on some products
  • Promote anything you like that has an affiliate program
  • Earn residual and passive income

The list could really go on and on.
