What Is Constant Content?
Constant Content is a platform where businesses, publishers and individuals can purchase relevant content that is already written. For writers, it’s a place to sell your content. You simply upload your articles, fill out the appropriate metadata so it’s discoverable, then wait for sales of that content. Obviously the more content you upload, the more chance you have of making money.
The platform was founded back in 2006 and quickly grew into a go to resource for SEO-related content and unique content. These days there are more than 100,000 writers on Constant Content all trying to sell their wares, and over 50,000 businesses using the platform to source content.
Unlike other content mills where everything is about bidding on existing projects, with Constant Content you actually write the content first and put it up for sale. There is also the option of receiving commissioned writing tasks.

How It Works
As a writer you sign up to be a member of Constant Content as a content producer. Before you get accepted and granted access to the system to start uploading your written wares, you first need to undergo an examination. It’s not that difficult. Constant Content does this is order to ascertain that you can actually write. You don’t have to be Hemmingway. Just so long as your writing is up to scratch you’ll pass no problem. You also need to fill out some other information so CC know your areas of expertise.
Once you’ve been accepted, each article you want to post on the site first has to go through a review process by the CC team. Once approved it will be live on the site and available to purchase. The review process can take from 3-5 days.
You articles can be purchased in 3 different ways:
- Usage
- Unique
- Full Rights
Usage has a lower price tag than the other two and Full Rights attracts the highest price. With Usage your article can be sold multiple times (much like an eBook). With Unique and Full Rights your content can only be sold once.
Constant Content take a massive 35% of all sales, so it’s a pretty big chunk to lose from rates that are already really low in my opinion, and rates attached to non-commissioned articles that may never even find a buyer.
As far as prices go, I’ve seen 1000 word articles selling for as low as $14, while others might be around $100. The average seems to be around the $40 mark. The average word length is 600+.

Custom Content
As prewritten articles are not always exactly what the client is after, businesses and individuals can order custom content, written specifically for them. In this case Constant Content will receive a specific request from a client and will match that client up with writers who have expertise in the required area. The client will then choose a writer and commission a piece of custom content.
Writers can also bid on projects just like you would do at content mills such as Upwork and Freelancer. The obvious problem with this is the lowest bid often wins, meaning you are in a race to the bottom and even if you win the project, you could be writing a lengthy article for peanuts.
Getting Paid
In order to receive a payout your account must have reached at least $5 in revenue. Payments are scheduled for the first week at the beginning of each month for the previous month’s earnings. All payments are made through PayPal.
Target Audience
Obviously aimed at freelance writers from across the globe. It doesn’t sound like a career move of any kind, so those seeking some very part-time income from CC at best.
What I Like
- It’s a little different to the other content mills
- You could end up working with some high end clients
What I Don’t Like
- You are essentially writing content for nothing, hoping someone comes along and buys it
- You might write loads of content and never make any money from it
- As a writer you are competing with more than 100k other writers on Constant Content
- Constant Content take a 35% fee from everything
- You likely won’t sell many of your articles
- Bidding on projects will guarantee a small payday if you win the job
How Much Does Constant Content Cost?
It’s free to join the platform as a writer. Constant Content subtracts a 35% commission from every sale or job it mediates. That’s a big hit considering most articles are only selling for around $40 maximum, and sales are likely to be few and far between for most writers on the platform.
Is Constant Content a Scam?
I don’t see it as a scam at all, but it’s also not a very profitable way to make money from your freelance writing, either. For starters, you are trying to sell articles that no one has requested, so you may write a bunch of stuff that never gets bought. If you bid on projects, the dollar amount will end up being really low.
In my opinion Constant Content is an even poorer option than the other content mills (all of which I don’t like, to be honest). It’s all a bidding race to the bottom on content mills, and in the case of CC, you are writing the content BEFORE anyone even wants it. You’re really just wasting your time. Some writers – specialists – might find success on the platform, but most won’t.
You are far better off cold emailing places you would like to write for. It’s hit and miss, but you will get some clients (usually regular clients), and the pay rates will be higher. Plus, you’re not just writing stuff hoping someone buys it. Your clients will commission paid work from you. It’s what I do as a freelancer and I always manage to get some clients.

If you really enjoy writing and are looking for ways to make money from your craft, have you considered affiliate marketing?
Much of this business revolves around writing content, helpful content, and sometimes promotional content. As an affiliate you are merely recommending or promoting the products and services of other companies and earning yourself commissions if someone takes action after reading your content and clicks through on your unique affiliate link.
It’s the perfect business for writers, and best of all, after a while much of your income becomes passive. You could write a product review about a particular product and continue to make sales from that one article over and over again for years.

It’s the first time that I hear about Constant Content. There are a lot of sites in which writers can make money from their writing skills. When I started to read your review I wanted to know what is different about Constant Content.

The fact that content is already written ca be bought is interesting about this program. This means that as a writer you can write about any topic you want and get paid for that. Even that your review doesn’t give this site a high ranking I still want to try it. I like that fact that with this model I can make money simply doing what I already know how to do which is writing.
Hi. Thanks for stopping by and leaving your thoughts on Constant Content. The platform is an okay one for writers and it’s not a scam or anything. I just don’t like the concept of writing stuff and putting it up there hoping someone wants to buy it. It’s like doing a bunch of writing for nothing. In that regard I’d rather find paying clients who want something specific written, I write it and then I get paid for the work I did. I do freelancing as part of my income earning, writing content for SEO companies, web designers and so on, but I never work for free.
