What Is Premier Designs?
Based out of Texas in the US, Premier Designs is a MLM company that primarily focuses on jewelry and accessories. The company was founded way back in 1985 by Joan and Andy Horner. The company seems to base a lot of its philosophies on Biblical principles, but I’m not real sure how that relates to the actual business opportunity attached to Premier Designs, which is what this review is focused on.
Can people actually make money selling Premier Designs’ range of jewelry, and are the products even worth it? All MLM businesses rely heavily on recruitment, and that’s no different with the way Premier Designs operate.

Premier Designs Products
As this review is about the business side of things, I won’t go deep into the products. There are far too many to list here anyway, and if you would like to learn more about the product range, simply visit the store on the Premier Designs website.
It’s all about jewelry, and their range includes things like:
- Necklaces
- Bracelets
- Rings
- Earrings
- Charms
- Watches
- Anklets
- Keychains
- Styling Tools
- And more…
Most of it appears to be costume jewelry rather than expensive pieces, and the prices seem quite reasonable. When it comes to the watches, I’ve never heard of any of the brands, so I’m assuming they have their own watches made.
The MLM Business Opportunity
For those who follow my posts on here, you will already know that I’m not a fan of the MLM business model, mostly because the way these ventures are set up, it’s grossly unfair to the distributors. All the advantages go to the company running the show, while distributors pretty much do all the work for no pay. Yes, there are commissions and bonuses to be earned down the track, but you don’t actually own your own business in MLM. You are simply a sales rep for the company.
Premier Designs gets a massive workforce that they don’t have to pay wages to. This workforce buys and sells the products, as well as promotes the business and grows the business through essential recruiting.
Companies choose MLM for a reason – Because it saves them loads of money on wages and advertising, and they have an army of distributors creating growth and doing all the work.
It’s really all a bit of a rort. The dream of an opulent lifestyle is always sold, but only a select few ever experience this kind of lifestyle with any MLM venture; and that’s those at the very top.

Premier Designs Compensation Plan
When you join the Premier Designs business opportunity, you become known as a “jeweler”. One good thing about the Premier Designs deal is they pay you a 50% commission on the retail end for all your direct sales, and you can also make personal purchases at a 50% discount. This makes it much easier for people just starting out to earn some decent coin.
Of course, this is still a MLM business, so there is a lot of focus and benefits placed on moving up the ranks, and the only way to do that is by mass recruiting and building an active downline.
A unilevel compensation plan is used here, which is the fairer version. This means you can directly recruit as wide as you like and your downlines run 3 levels deep. Your commission level for sales by your downline is set at 10%.
To get started you must first purchase a kit, with the cheapest being $395. Your kit will give you some jewelry to sell as well as some business materials. A personal website with the first 3 months of hosting for free is included.
You can also earn individual and team bonuses along with direct commissions and commissions from your downline.

Is Premier Designs An Illegal Pyramid Scheme
An illegal pyramid scheme has no products and relies on the injection of money from new recruits to survive. As premier Designs has plenty of products, and they also sell at a retail level, they cannot be classified as an illegal pyramid scheme.
Target Audience
If you love fashion jewelry, then you might be attracted to this business deal. One advantage of MLM is everything is set up and ready to go, and that’s what appeals to many people.
What I Like
- It’s not in the saturated health and wellness niche
- The jewelry is reasonably priced for what it is
- The company has been around since 1985
- The commissions are high at 50%
- Unilevel compensation structure
What I Don’t Like
- You still need to recruit like crazy to advance up the ranks and have a chance at earning decent money
- Most people fail to make any profit with MLM
- The starter packs are expensive
- The very nature of MLM is to reward those at the very top while giving virtually nothing to the majority at the bottom doing all the work
How Much Does Premier Designs Cost?
To join the Premier Designs business and become a jeweler, you first need to purchase one of their starter packs, which are as follows:
- Simple Sparkle = $395
- Bling It On = $595
- Luxe Launch = $795
So, pretty expensive to get started. You do get a website, but after 3 months you will have to start paying for the website hosting.
Is Premier Designs a Scam?
No, it’s not a scam at all. It’s your usual MLM deal, where recruiting is necessary to have a chance of rising up the ranks. That’s the hardest part of all for most people, and the very reason why the vast majority fail at all MLM ventures.
As far as MLM businesses go, this is probably one of the better ones I’ve seen. The product prices are a bit more realistic, and the compensation plan is a little fairer.
However, I still find it very hard to recommend getting involved in any MLM scheme, because it’s one of the toughest and most competitive ways there is to try and make money.
Forget MLM – Here’s a Much Better Way
A much better way to make money is to set up an online business. It’s actually way easier than what you might think. I do affiliate marketing online and it has many advantages over MLM. Let’s quickly run through just a few:

- Your business is not tied to a physical location, so you can work from anywhere
- Travel and take your business with you
- Work from the comfort of home
- Be your own boss and set your own schedule
- Spend more time with your family
- No limit on your income potential
- Make yourself rich and not someone else
There are loads more advantages than that. I’ve simply given you a snap shot of what an affiliate marketing business can do for you.
