What Is The Best WordPress Web Hosting

If you are running one or more WordPress sites – or you plan to for your business – then having managed WordPress hosting is really the way to go to ensure stability, security and high performance of your website. Particularly important for businesses who rely on their website for much of their business income and visibility, having your WordPress site perform at its optimum is vital to stay competitive. That being said, what is the best WordPress web hosting available today?

This is just my own personal opinion, but in my experience (and that of countless others), two distinctive web hosting platforms come to mind:

  1. WP Engine
  2. Bluehost

While both options are very good, I rate WP Engine the better of the two and I’ll explain why below.

WP Engine

This company ONLY hosts WordPress sites and nothing else. They are WordPress hosting specialists. WP Engine live and breathe WordPress and are fanatical about this CMS. It’s the very reason they created their platform to begin with: to offer dedicated and managed WordPress hosting of the highest quality.

What sets WP Engine apart from its competitors is their attention to every detail that the WordPress CMS requires to deliver a truly optimum website performance, day after day and year after year. Perhaps their hosting is more aimed at established businesses, but anyone running WordPress who wants exceptional and secure hosting should consider at least taking a good look at WP Engine.

It’s not the cheapest hosting going around, with prices starting at $29.99 per month, but it certainly is one of the very best, if not the best. If you prefer to run WordPress, and if you site gets a lot of traffic, then managed WordPress hosting with a specialist site like WP Engine is the way to go.

Important specs at a glance:

  • Daily site backups
  • Dedicated WordPress hosting platform
  • Extremely fast page load speeds and site speed report
  • 24/7/365 support
  • Performance statistics
  • Multiple levels of Enterprise Grade security
  • Malware scanning and firewall protection
  • Virtually 100% site uptime

Bluehost

Bluehost is what I term a “generic” hosting company, meaning they don’t specialise in one form of hosting or one CMS platform. Bluehost cater to the masses, but they do it really, really well. This company has been around for a long time now and have really soared in popularity these past few years. Part of this is due to the fact they are currently offering incredible deals on their hosting packages AND, most importantly for this post, they also offer managed WordPress hosting for WP users and lovers.

In actual fact the WordPress company themselves rate Bluehost as one of the very top platforms to host WordPress developed sites. WP can be installed on Bluehost with simple one click integration. Bluehost utilise VPS technology to host WordPress sites, ensuring they load fast and are supremely stable.

Hosting a managed WordPress site on Bluehost is cheaper than WP Engine, with prices starting at just $19.99 a month. However, Bluehost’s focus is divided between all different types of hosting, whereas WP Engine focus solely on WordPress and nothing else.

Important specs at a glance:

  • 24/7 support
  • Dedicated managed WordPress hosting
  • Budget pricing
  • Automatic site backups
  • Top notch website stability and security
  • Fast page loading with 99.9% uptime
  • cPanel interface for analytics

The Wrap Up

In my opinion you can’t really go wrong with either of these two great companies for hosting WordPress sites. Both are top quality, with WP Engine just edging out Bluehost in my opinion for managed WP hosting services because they are specialists.

I’ll finish off by making a mention of a third good option for fantastic WordPress hosting – Wealthy Affiliate. If you want to learn how to start an online business AND get to build and host WordPress sites on their top notch servers, Wealthy Affiliate might also be worth a look.

  1. I agree with what you mention about the sites you have chosen to be top contenders. There are lots of providers available, but after using and learning about using WordPress, I would rate them over other platforms.

WP Engine is not one I know about as much as I have heard a lot of great things about BlueHost. For your third mention Wealthy Affiliate, that is the one I did choose to use for two main reasons.

    1. Free package to sign up for to check out the WordPress platform.
    2. Wealthy Affiliate is not just a provider as they teach you and train you with what you need to know about building a successful online presence.

For me, I felt that was imperative to learn how to incorporate proper SEO and marketing strategies into my site.

    • Wealthy Affiliate is a great option if you want to study online marketing as well as get managed WordPress hosting. Bluehost and WP Engine are great choices for those not looking to do training. I think WP Engine’s hosting is superior to that of WA. They really are specialists when it comes to WordPress sites.
