What Is Clickworker?

There are lots of websites these days where people can join and make small amounts of money performing everyday online tasks. Generally these tasks are no-brainer stuff that anyone is capable of doing.

Clickworker has been around since 2005. It’s not a rewards type of site. It’s more of a platform where members perform small tasks for various companies, taking the workload away from their regular employees who obviously have more important things to focus on. Clickworker is like the liaison between company and contracted Clickworker worker, bringing the two together in a somewhat beneficial and harmonious relationship.

How It Works

Signing up is free. Then it’s a matter of filling out all your profile information. Once this is done you will be ready to start work.

As some posted jobs require you to have certain skill levels, Clickworker has a bunch of skill assessments for members to complete and pass. Many posted tasks will require you to have passed certain Clickworker skill tests, so it’s wise to do at least a few of these.

Once you’ve completed your profile and passed a few skill tests, you can basically pick and choose the tasks you want to perform, and you can work whenever you please. It’s a first come, first served scenario, and you also need to be “qualified” to perform certain tasks. Don’t wait around too long if a task gets your interest, as it won’t stay available for long.

Here is a list of just some of the sorts of tasks you can expect to find on Clickworker:

  • Surveys
  • Copy Editing
  • Web Research
  • Text Creation
  • Data Categorisation
  • Proofreading

Clickworker Tasks

Text creation really just means accomplishing small content writing tasks. It could be a blog post or a product description.

Proofreading means to check for errors in copy that has already been written.

Things like web research will involve garnering information from various sources on the internet, such as business addresses and so on.

Really, just about anyone can do these tasks. Possibly the hardest two would be the writing and editing jobs.

One important thing to note: When you do decide to take on a task, you can’t just take forever to get it done. There will be a time limit for successful completion. If you don’t finish it by the time the timer counts down to zero, you won’t be credited with any rewards for your time spent on it.

After completion, some tasks will need to be reviewed before approval for payment. Once approved, your rewards for the job will be credited to your Clickworker account.

How Much Money Can You Make?

At the end of the day, how much money you can make as a Clickworker worker is what it’s really all about, so let’s break it down.

To begin with, you do earn real money on Clickworker. You’re not paid in gift cards. All payments are made to your PayPal account, and are paid out once a week if your account has reached the €5 payout threshold. If you prefer the direct deposit method, then payments will be made once a month if your account has at least €10 in it.

In reality, by all reports, you will be lucky if you make as much as the equivalent of $3 an hour for your time, and that’s if you’re doing well. The average is more like $2 per hour. That’s about on par with doing paid surveys, which you don’t have to sit any skill assessments for.

Target Audience

This platform, like so many others out there, really targets people new to making money online, and those needing to earn some extra cash in their spare time without it disrupting their regular work schedule. I can’t see something like Clickworker appealing to anyone who has more experience making decent cash on the internet.

What I Like

  • The opportunity is available worldwide
  • You get paid in real money
  • The company has been around since 2005
  • Low payment threshold
  • Free to join Clickworker
  • You can work from home whenever you like

What I Don’t Like

  • The company really hypes up the unrealistic earning potential of working for them
  • You will be doing good if you can pull $3 an hour from this gig
  • It’s a very poor exchange for your valuable time
  • Not enough work available to keep you busy
  • You have to pass various skill assessments to even be able to apply to do a very low paying task
  • This will consume too much of your time with very little reward
  • Very monotonous and tedious work
  • Many of your tasks have to go through a review process before you get paid
  • Task varies from what was listed
  • Poor customer service

How Much Does Clickworker Cost?

It doesn’t cost you anything to join Clickworker as a contractor, and I don’t believe that sites like this one should ever charge people to join, either.

Is Clickworker a Scam?

Clickworker is definitely not a scam. It’s a just a platform where you can perform work at what basically equate to slave labour rates. For some reason online companies can get away with paying people very little compensation, which is vastly different from the offline world, where minimum wages are in place in most countries. I guarantee Clickworker get paid a hell of a lot more by the companies than what they are willing to pay the workers.

In reality, if the goal is to make some decent part-time cash, or even find something to replace your fulltime job, then Clickworker is not the answer. I’d give it a miss.

Try My Top Recommendation To Make Money

Why not do what I do to make a fulltime living online. Even if you are only seeking part-time money, what I do can achieve that as well. You get to work for yourself from home (with no time limits), and your income potential is unlimited. Also, the work you do can lead to numerous passive income streams, which can’t be achieved on Clickworker.
