~ The Awakening Review ~

Intro

No doubt you’ve heard about The Awakening through an email, social media, or just by surfing online and want to know more about it. It’s great that you’re here reading my review, as it means you are wise enough to do your research before jumping into something.

While there are many greats platforms online to help you make money, unfortunately there are a lot of scams as well. I do my best to bring attention to the good stuff, while also exposing the bad.

What Is The Awakening?

To be honest, when I first came across The Awakening, I thought it was going to be some spiritual thing about the law of attraction, or meditation or something. Just the name threw me off track initially, until I looked into it.

The Awakening is all about making money by marketing to even a very small email list of subscribers. Obviously you’ll need some sort of list to get going with what these guys teach, but they claim you can be making several hundred dollars an hour or more even with a tiny list of just 134 people or so.

Personally, I find this a very hard to believe, but that’s what the creators of The Awakening are claiming.

One of the owners is Brendan Mace, and I’ve reviewed products brought out by this guy before, such as “The Banger Method”, which is an okay program, but nothing great.

The thing is – and it’s the case with most sales videos on websites like this – the video never actually tells you anything about what you’ll be buying into. It just goes on and on with hype about how much money you can make and how easy it’ll all be. It’s weird why so many presenters do this, because as humans we don’t normally buy something without first knowing a bit about it.

Generally the reason they’re so vague is either their platform is a scam, or it really doesn’t have enough going for it to be able to deliver on the outrageous promises they make. They want to sell you on excitement alone, telling you what you want to hear, hoping that’ll be enough to draw you in and hand over your money.

How It Really Works

Because the video doesn’t reveal much, I dug a little deeper.

Basically this is how it works. The Awakening teaches you to create YouTube videos, with the goal of getting free traffic to those videos and having a way for visitors to then subscribe to your email list. Brendan Mace and co claim they have come up with something new and unique, but in reality this is old news relabelled.

Once people are visiting your videos, they won’t simply join your mailing list for the hell of it. You have to offer them an enticing freebie. This is what’s known in the industry as a lead magnet.

Some examples of common lead magnets are:

  • eBooks
  • Cheat sheets
  • Software
  • How to guides
  • Audio downloads
  • And so on…

Now that you are building up your list of subscribers, you can start emailing them with affiliate promotions, where you make a commission if someone on your list purchases a product or service that you’re promoting as an affiliate.

The claim is that you can make awesome money with just a tiny list (as mentioned earlier), and one of the owners of The Awakening, Shahin Dehestani, alleges that he made over $3000 promoting to a list of just 134 people.

I said it before and I’ll say it again. I find that very hard to believe.

The Awakening Creators

Too Good To Be True?

Maybe a highly experienced marketer with great funnels, offers and systems in place might be able to make that kind of cash from such a small list (although still very doubtful). No newcomer with a brand new list is likely to get anywhere near a figure of $214 an hour promoting to their virgin and tiny list.

For starters, it takes some time to build trust with your subscribers. After all, that’s subconsciously likely part of the reason they joined your list, to get to know you better and see what you are offering before committing to anything. If you simply start blasting your new list with sale after sale type of emails, most will either ignore your offers or unsubscribe.

Even if your new list is hungry to buy something, you would have to be selling a very expensive, high ticket item to be able to average over $200 an hour for a whole month. And you can only promote so many items so often to your list anyway. Your subscribers are not going to constantly buy the stuff you promote.

Too Many Pieces Are Missing

While The Awakening does have some merit in what they teach, there are too many pieces missing here.

For starters, one of the most effective ways to build a list is to have a website that’s getting traffic, which you can incorporate with the YouTube video method and get loads more subscribers.

You also need some other tools, such as a platform to handle your list, set up autoresponder emails and so on. I use GetResponse for this, but it’s not free.

The included training is full of gaps in the process and doesn’t really take members through how to do it in a step by step process.

There is also no kind of video software on offer to make these YouTube videos, email opt in forms, lead capture pages or a website. You’ll also need some sort of hosting for any email capture page to collect the email addresses.

Target Audience

I believe this definitely targets newcomers to making money online. They see the claim of easily being able to earn over $200 an hour with very little time and effort and think, “yes, that’s what I want”. So many MMO schemes that are either scams or a bit on the dodgy side will almost always target newbies because they simply don’t have the experience to realise the program is not worth it.

What I Like

  • There is some merit in their methods
  • You can make some money with what they’re teaching

What I Don’t Like and Red Flags

  • The sales video tells you nothing but sales hype to get you to buy
  • The income claims are way, way over-inflated
  • No newbies will be making that kind of cash from a tiny email list
  • The training is full of holes and the program lacks all the tools to achieve what they teach
  • Guys like Brendan mace just quickly throw some money making program together and toss it up on the Warriors Plus affiliate platform, hoping to make some quick sales
  • While the program might be legit, a lot of lies are being told to try and sell it

How Much Does The Awakening Cost?

The asking price to access The Awakening training is only $14.95, so pretty reasonable on that score. But like I said earlier, there are a number of other tools you’ll need that will cost you extra.

Added to that, The Awakening has 3 upsells they’ll try very hard to peddle to you, as that’s where they have the most potential to make some decent money from their members.

Upsell #1 – DFY Awakening Campaigns = $37

This is a done for you pack of 5 emails to send to your list. But in order for these emails to be of any value to you, your niche must match the content of the 5 ready-made emails.

Upsell #2 – License Rights = $97

These are reseller rights, meaning you have the right to sell The Awakening as your own training package and keep 100% of the profits.

Upsell #3 – Coaching With Brendan Mace = $2000

Yes, you read that right. It’s not a mistake. Personal coaching with creator Brendan Mace will cost you a cool $2000.

Is The Awakening a Scam?

I don’t rate The Awakening as a scam, but I don’t recommend it either. The training is too weak, the methods they teach are far from likely to have you making anything like $200 an hour, and it takes more tools and time to build an email list and gain trust with that list.

They also tell a lot of lies on their website and in their sales pitch just to get you excited enough to hurry up and buy. Once inside, they’ll push the upsells on you, because that’s where these guys will make the real money, and not on the small $14.95 initial joining fee.
