If you are running WordPress websites or are considering it, you might be wondering what the top WordPress hosting sites are. There are plenty of places you can host WordPress sites, and there are a number of good ones that offer managed WordPress hosting; which is advisable if you want to get the best performance out of your sites and host them on the most secure platforms. I have two managed WordPress hosting companies that I recommend and I’ll briefly discuss the benefits of each one in this post.

#1 – WP Engine

This company is dedicated to hosting WordPress websites only, meaning they host no other websites build on other platforms. This is what sets WP Engine apart from the competition when it comes to managed WordPress hosting. They are specialists. They know WordPress inside out and have designed and constructed a hosting platform to suit it.

This equates to getting the absolute best performance out of all WordPress sites hosted on WP Engine. Sites will:

  • Load super fast
  • Have much higher security
  • Get backed up daily
  • Be supported by staff that really understand WordPress
  • Performance statistics included

If you run WordPress and your online business or other enterprise really relies on your web presence, then managed hosting by WP Engine makes a lot of sense. Sure it’s more expensive than generic hosting or some other companies that offer managed hosting as a part of their package selection, but as I said this company are dedicated to WordPress alone and they live and breathe this popular CMS.

Prices are not too bad anyway, starting at a mere $29 a month for one WordPress site. With every hosting plan you get 60 days to try it out and you can cancel your subscription at any time during that period and receive a refund. I doubt you’ll be seeking a refund though, as it doesn’t come any better than WP Engine for quality and affordable managed WordPress hosting.

#2 – Bluehost

My number 2 choice is Bluehost. Their prices are a little cheaper than WP Engine, but their downside is they are a generic hosting company that spend their time working on all different types of architecture, with a variety of hosting plans to host websites built on all manner of platforms.

Don’t get me wrong. Their managed WordPress hosting is first class, just not quite as good as the option above. Bluehost offer a quality service for all of their hosting plans, but they are not WordPress specialists like WP Engine.

That being said, their managed hosting designed for WP sites is still top notch, and when you host your WordPress site with them, you will be afforded the following benefits:

  • Fast page loading
  • High tech security and stability
  • 24/7 tech support
  • cPanel interface for stats and analytics
  • Automatic site back ups

Bluehost’s managed WordPress pricing starts out at $19.99 per month. That price increases as your needs increase, but that’s the starting point. Definitely a quality option for both WordPress hosting and all forms of website hosting. Great prices and fantastic plans.

A Third Option

As a long standing member of Wealthy Affiliate, who also do managed WordPress hosting, I can tell you that their hosting service is also worth consideration. Yes, Wealthy Affiliate is a training platform to learn online business and affiliate marketing, but as part of their Premium Membership ($49 a month) you get to host up to 50 WordPress sites on fast, reliable and highly secure servers.

For managed WordPress hosting I still prefer WP Engine with Bluehost second, but if you want to combine quality WP hosting with learning to start and operate a profitable online business, then maybe Wealthy Affiliate is worth a look. It’s free to join and check it out so you can make a decision on it.

  1. Hi Darren, I am new to internet marketing and I was unsure about where to host my website. I came across Wealthy Affiliate myself a few months back and I can recommend it as a safe bet. I changed the subscription to yearly so I get it a lot cheaper than $49 per month and I have no problems whatsoever. Your information was really good – thanks for sharing!

    • Wealthy Affiliate offer fantastic managed WordPress hosting, and they are great if you want to train to set up an online business in the process. For those people who already have businesses and are just looking for the best places to host WP, then WP Engine and Bluehost offer the best value and quality overall.
